Does the FED actually think we are illiterate and don't know what's going on?...When do you think the Gov't will stop and actually listen to what its' future leaders has to say...We too have relevant points on what's going on in our own backyards...

They'll start listening when we start talking sense. How arrogant are you, you've lived less than 25 years and you think your views hold a candle to people who have twice your experience?

I think that some kids these days are a lost smarter than some people that are voting already. Some murderers and drug dealers that can vote before us! It is a shame to think that if we are 16 now, when we turn 18 we wont be able to vote till we are 20!!! so we won't be able to choose the president that is capable of sending us to war or not! The government can't listen to us yet, so i guess we just have to wait. Some people aren't mature enough yet to be able to vote.

I think that they have to do the following:

TURN 18. When you can vote, the parties and candidiates care. But Praetor is right. Get involved and show that you care and they will start caring about you.

I think the government will start listening what young people have to say when they start doing the following.

First, young people under the age of 40 have to get out there and vote. Average turnout for a Presidential election is around 40-60%, turnout for local elections is like around 10%. And you know who shows up the most to vote, its the older people, especialy the retirees! So you who are underage, you have to encourage your older brothers and sisters of voting age to actually vote.

Second, young people who aren't old enough to vote have to be more vocal. Our leaders think you don't care. You have to start making your voice heard. Work on the election campaigns, distribute flyers, conduct fundraisers. These campaigns need foot soldiers and the young people could be the army that puts leaders in power.

Third, it may behoove you to join the minor parties instead of the two major ones. The two parties think they got it made and they don't need your vote or support. So give it to the parties and causes you do care about. You go to a meeting of the Democratic or Republican parties and you will find nothing but old people. But you go to the meetings of Libertarian and Green parties and you will find alot of young people.

And if they're arent any local chapters of these parties, it may behoove you to contact thier national offices on how to start chapters in yourneighborhood.

They don't want to give us that much power, we might overthrow Bush or something Wink

But seriously kids are getting more involved and some i think know more about the issues than adults
