From what I have seen on this site, it appears the youth of american... or at least the teen half, has some pretty interesting views on the whole bush thing.
They should lower the age to vote, so we can have a say in the government. Most adults don't vote, and if it was to like 16+ then there would be a wider span of voters. Just because I'm not 18, doesn't mean anything. I don't think writing letters is very effective... the only action is to vote!!

If more of the youth was actually interested in the presidential elections, that might be possible, but right now not enough 18-24 year olds are actually voting. I know because a man came to our school to talk to us about registering and to tell us that we actually have a voice and more of us should actually start voting. I plan to vote in November now that I have turned 18, but there really isn't much to choose from.

I don't believe it should be lowered. Honestly most teens are not very well informed on whats going on in our government except for maybe the news. And they could just go in and vote without even an ounce of care into who they are voting for. But if i could vote I have decided that i would vote for Bush. Kerry (the candidate) is too sketchy for me. Anyways, it shouldn't be lowered at all. It's that age for a reason.

yeah, i think it should be lowered too, but maybe down to 15 instead of 16. I know that there are many teens that don't know enough about the political cadidates to vote, though, and a lot of teens probably wouldn't be interested in voting. but many do, so i think it should be lowered

Its true. There are only a select few teens younger than 18 that would take the proper time to research and put actual thought into voting. I know that most of my school would register for voting and maybe play eneey-miny-moe to pick their choice. Others would base their voting on whatever the media throws at them.
