I logged onto the internet this morning to do some research on Reinhard Heydrich for this paper I'm doing and guess what I see: Fallujeh no longer safe haven for terrorists. I was so over joyyed that this operation which I thought could have been handled more efficiently was successful. Now that Fallujeh is ours, do you think Iraq will soon be incomplete Allied control?

Bring our troops home!

once this country is secure, they will become the economic power of the world. maybe im not the first to bring this up but think about it. saddam is out it. sanctions are lifted. the iraqis are open to free trade again. they sit upon thirty precent of the world's oil. if they were to somehow in the future annex kuwait as they tried in the early nineties, they will control 40% of the world's oil! that is some real power. i have no doubt that we wil succeed in this war. it is just a matter of time.

I think it will be later than sooner. I think that many of the rebels fled from Fallujah and are making more apperiances on other towns as the battles were going on in Fallujah. It is true, they don't care if they die, but they are sure willing to put a good fight before they go down. Plus, what Aguagon says is true about them getting new recruits more easily. I've heard that it will most likely take years before this war is actually over and before this new Iraqi forces can take control of their own country.

As usual, northstar got it right. Taking the city is never the hard part; the hard part is holding the city whilst taking minimal casualties. The insurgents indeed don't care if they die, and nothing is going to stop them from fighting. To make matters worse, with each innocent and civilian who dies/died in the taking and holding of the city, rebel leaders will find find it easier to get new recruits via a "look what they're doing to our innocent, noble people!" approach.

It's going to be a long, hard war against the insurgencey. There are still many places to take, and the rebels don't care if they die. They will leave, then they'll be back, leave, and be back. The "war" is a stalemate, no matter what the news says. The insurgence holds half the nation, and they will fight, rock and tooth, to the bitter end. The real qusetion is, will there ever be a real victory abroad?

I know that in the end Iraq will be in Iraqi control, but do you think that Iraq, aka insurgent run cities, will fall to Allied forces and Iraqi control now that the insurgent stronghold has been captured?
