Killington, Vermont is tired of the high taxes their socialist state keeps pounding them with. So the governing body of that city today voted to secede to more capitalist New Hampshire, a state where the economy is bustling -- without a state income or sales tax. Woooooo! I think places all over this country would do well in following the lead... http://www.joeydauben.com

As a New Hampshirite, I would have to disagree. If the Free Staters had their way (the libertarians who have chosen to make our state their new HQ, for some reason), we'd be taking care of towns all over the US. I don't know if you've looked at the map lately, but our government isn't exactly prepared for a whole lot of new towns to take care of. Perhaps if instead of seceding people voted, the state government could change. Also, I do believe Killington seceded because VT would not give the town promised tax returns, as it were, not because of political differences. One more thing, we're NOT the most capitalist state in the country. We're just lucky enough to have good mountains, nice lakes, and pretty foliage, thus good tourism revenues.
