McGreevey resigned on Friday stating that he was a gay American. But was that his reason for resigning? I think, rather, it was the corruption that was surrounding his inner-circle. But I still think it was a valiant, courageous statement...to come out of the closet like that really sends a positive message and hopefully will help more Americans tolerate homosexuality.

McGreevey did not confess because he wanted to come out of the closet! McGreevey confessed because he was facing a sexual harassment suit, and knew his sexuality would become public anyway!

Unfortunately, the media spin has been that he's a gay man who cannot keep his job because of the public's views on gays. That's not the case at all. A greater problem, aside from the lawsuit, is the fact that the man he had relations with was an appointee of his. A very controversial one.

Red, don't worry about how the media's portraying it. Here in Jersey everyone is very well aware of his scandals. We've been hearing about them for months now. This gay thing caught everyone off guard. Now we're back to realizing that he's a scumbag again.

this is somthing the media played up to make it look like he resigned because he was gay when treally it was how he put cipel on payroll in homeland security which cipel knew nothing about and was paying cipel a 6 figure salary. the way i understand it therre have bany several scandals by democrats over the past years and youd think that the NJ citizens would be sick of it but there is truly no hope for republicans there.

He must have known what kind of reactions he was going to get once he came out of the closet.
