I am neither a Republican or a Democrat, however, I would like someone to explain to me the differences between the two and why one is better than the other. Is there an actual better party? Which side has it? Which side doesnt? And why should I vote for that party? Thanks.

Moved to a more appropriate board. Carry on.
In a situation where a moral decision must be made, we should always choose truth, in the expansion and enrichment of knowledge, in ourselves and others, and at all levels of our being.

I think kids should have some say in the political world because who your parents vote on have control over the school systems and what gose on in them and that dose consern the kids.Plus most kids do under stand what's going on in the political world from hearing there parents talking about it and so on. so kids should be allowed to vote!!!!!!!!!!!! How about u do u think kids should be able to vote under 18?

there are so many parties out there that go unrepresented (in races, debates, campaigns) that all the populus knows is republican or democrat. or vice versa. GREEN PARTY IS THE SHIZBAM BIZZLE NIZZLET SNIP SNAP SANDWICH!!!!!! they're all about practical government. what works, will benefit ALL AMERICANS not this party or this party. they're as straight forward as a party can get. i hate the way that you never know what is REALLY going on in the white house because it's all laced in legislative lingo and at the end of the term, nothing major has been achieved. it's like both parties are like, "vote for me, and i'll do stuff!!! you have my word." okay.... stuff. right. STOP P-FOOTING AROUND AND ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING BAS*****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hold mostly Republican views, and if I were old enough, I would be voting for mostly Republicans. Here in South Carolina, the US Senate race is very close, and I would be voting for Alex Sanders, the Democrat. Most of my personal opinions and causes match up with Republicans, but in this case I just have to go for the person I think is the best representative. That is what I think everyone should do: vote for the best candidate-- not the one with the best affliations.

Parties are important so that one can get a better understand of a person's views before hand. There are certian things that one party thinks and that the other on doesn't. It is important to avoid confusion and long winded discussion of views. You should care Holliewood. "Freedom is not Free"-Korean War Memorial, Washington DC.

Most people with an opinion about parties will probably tell you their version of the story. To spare you from my version - here are links to official Young Democrats and College Republican sites. You can find out about their issues and tons of other stuff straight from the source: Young Democrats of America http://www.yda.org/index.html College Republican National Committee http://www.crnc.org/national_office.cfm

though i'm not old enough to vote, i think my family is republican. But to tell you the truth, i could care less about being republican or democratic as long as the right president and etc are the better vote. I think its really stupid that some people only vote for the same political party they are despite if the ppl they vote for suck. There is no "better" party, and unfortunatly ppl are probably gonna fight over who is better sh*t like that. But anywayz, vote for someone you trust~who cares about what 'party' they are in?
