I saw the movie Outsourced which is not a documentary (it's a comedy, and a good one) but has made me think a lot about outsourcing labor. I didn't realize before that that English is the language of the Indian government, and that the reason the US sends customer service and order fulfillment jobs to India is because there is already a labor force that speaks English. What are your feelings about outsourcing, specifically the kind where US/UK based companies export their phone centers abroad?

The movie came out last month but it's an independent film so I think it's already gone from most of the theaters it was in. The DVD comes out on November 1 though (here's the official website: Outsourced. I don't bother cutting my lawn, that's my solution. It may bother my neighbors, but it doesn't bother me. Once or twice a year the landlord cuts the lawn because otherwise it's a fire hazard (or so they claim). So I guess I already am outsourcing that!
