McCarthyism...God rest his soul(i guess j/p)...But the situation with these wire taps it's not clear as to were they legal or not. After all these are some of the liberties that were granted to the federal government through the passing of the Patriot Act, if not directly stating, these are just some of the things that occured. If the taps were result of suspicions of certain people in the country with ties overseas then the taps would be justified if and only if they were authorized by a federal court. If not, then all participants of the act should be held accountable, no matter the call of security. Security can't be uphelp if achieved through questionable procedure. No matter the case.

Well first of all yes the way you put it, it is illegal.. however, if it turns out that a special judge allowed it then no it's not against the law... let me put it to you like this... The law is bigger than you, so before you open your mouth study it. Now the FBI can tap your phones all day, just like police, and they dont need a warrant. However EO: 12036 enacted the Intelligence Oversight board to ensure citizens rights were upheld after the age of McCarthyism... and look that up if you dont know what it is. The only phones that were tapped were those people that were known to have overseas contacts which inherently suggests that there was a court order.

Please tell me you have a source for this. What kind of wiretap? And where? Under what suspicion would they be placed? How would they be placed? Why? This seems like leftist radical bullshit to me.
