Reading through this morning's paper I noticed an editorial about gay marriage. ANTI-gay marriage of course. However, what really struck me was the fact that New Hampshire's state legislature is seriously considering making it impossible for gay marriage, even civil unions. The bill is CACR1 if you're interested.

What I'm most upset about is our state motto. "Live Free or Die". More and more I'm seeing a degradation of integrity we have in our core values. No one can argue that their individual liberties will be in direct violation were gay marriage to pass into law. Rather, it is the opposite that is true in my opinion. This is a big issue for me, of course, but this is not the first thing I've seen taken away from New Hampshirites.

But this is an opinion poll. I want to know.

Question:
How valid is NH's state motto anymore?

Choices:
Extremely, even with the lowered individual liberties.
NH is breaking away from its foundational motto. Change the motto to "Live Under Tyranny".
New Hampshire should stick to its motto and consider progressive reformation to traditional values
I don't know much about New Hampshire. Except it's a really political state. Right? Am I right? OMG. I don't know anything...

Write a letter to the paper. Sure, it won't do much, but it will expose others to the problem, aye?
