So the democrats officially have both the House and the Senate. George Allen conceded. =]

Haha. Right? Northern Nevada voted Republican as well..& it has Reno atleast. Even though my county voted Dem. it just wasn't enough. Blah.

I didn't listen to the speech but I heard about the resignation. Interesting. I wonder what will happen now.

Anybody listen to Bush's speech today?

Donald Rumsfeld resigned even though Bush just said last week that he would stay on for the next two years...interesting. Think it was in response to the elections, or he would have resigned either way??

"""I'm all for getting women into politics...but trust me. A woman governor is not necessarily all it's cracked up to be... *speaking from experience*"""

I met her. I listened to the debates with Jim Gibbons, who won. Plus, he already had scandal all over the news before he even won...we really don't need any more of that. Anyway, she would have been a great governor. She won in my county easily, but stupid rural Nevada always votes republican. Oh well.

It's officially over. Final Senate control: 49 Democrats, 49 Republicans, and 2 Independents. And the Independents are both more or less Dems.

Truly, this exceeded even my highest hopes.

Oh, I'm fairly certain, as well. If he does pull it off, I will *definately* suspect foul play.

Thanks!

In all seriousness, I'm 98% sure it's over for Allen. It would pretty much take a miracle for him to overcome that gap. So...happy birthday!

From what I can recall, there's *never* been a recount that filled a 7000 vote gap. That makes me feel rather confidant (sp?) in the Dems taking the Senate, but still. . . After the Florida and Ohio fiascos, anything is possible. So, yes, Aguagon, I suppose it could go either way. *shrug* I guess we'll see in the next few. . . Days? Weeks?

My Representative (Callaghan) lost. *tear* But the House victory kind of compensates. . . That's a brilliant birthday gift. If by some magical chance Allen concedes tomorrow, it will be the most amazing birthday ever.

I'm a little perplexed. Do recounts always favor the early winner, or do they always favor the Republican? Recent history says it go could either way.

I am not MSNBC or CNN or Fox News...

But, I am predicting a Victory for Jim Webb and the Democratic Party

And for control of the Senate

But a recount and decision could take weeks

Looks like the House is overwhelmingly Democrat and the Senate is split right down the middle. This will be a fun two years...

Montana goes to the Dems for the senate after a cliffhanger.
