Joey, this is not a matter of whether or not homosexuality is OKAY, and you KNOW it. This is an issue of a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. This is an issue of reversing the very intent of the framers of our Constitution and USING it to restrict individual rights, rather than to protect them. Forget whether or not you support gay marriage. Do you want to set a precedent for using the Constitution to place restrictions on individual liberties? Do you want to set a precedent for taking important rights from the states and giving them to the federal government? You need to THINK, Dauben. Think HARD about what you and the rest of you Christian fundies and so-called "conservatives" are trying to DO here. A true conservative would never support such an abuse of our Constitution. You are blinded by your own religion-induced hatred. Wake up.

Thats ridiculous. How can you pin something like that on homosexuals? It has nothing to do with them.

it doesnt sound like it could be homosexuals fault, but homophobes fault. its not homosexuals fault that they're gay, all they did was be, and if what you say is true, gay people didnt force christians to vote for bush and against gays...why would they? at least not on purpose. maybe if people worried about more important issues like war and health care and less about homophobia they would realize the real reason bush won..which i'm not sure of myself.

Please explain to me outside of a biblical stand point how it is not. This is also another example of you not being consistent with your libertarian ideals. Again libertarians and Christians do not mix.
To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. -Teddy Roosevelt

Let's not forget that homosexuals comprise a fraction of the total population, not counting the total voting population.
Not every state is a San Francisco.
And let's not also forget that many black congregations did not go along with the gay marriage issue. In other words, they took a rare social conservative position on the matter, and many blacks I would wager voted for the gay marriage bans in those 11 states.
Let's not also forget that when mobilized, fundamental Christians have the power to do some damage, and they did to the secular humanists who would have you think sodomy and homosexuality is okay.
Then again, we have other issues, such as just how big this police state is going to get.

Look, you are trying to be deep, it's not working You sound like a moron. This post has nothing to do with social progress, it has everything to do with the democrates blaming homosexuals for Kerry's loss and what everyone thinks about this.

Or perhaps you didn't listen to what I said. We're blaming people's reaction to homosexuals. We're blaming all of those who are working so hard to destroy social progress and make the world an even more bigoted place.
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

Wow, maybe you didn't read anything I said since most liberals only believe and are willing to listen to anyone but themselves. DEMOCRATES ARE BLAMING HOMOSEXUALS FOR KERRY'S LOSS!!!

I don't think any of us blame the homosexuals; we just blame the homophobes. The simple fact that you can't tell the difference between the two speaks volumes.
