I know it is early, but it is never to soon to start thinking about the next election. Who do you think is going run? My money is on Clinton, Edwards, Guilliani, and McCain.

"A poor choice of words conveyed to some the impression that I embraced the discarded policies of the past," Lott said. "Nothing could be further from the truth, and I apologize to anyone who was offended by my statement." I dont think that is what a racist would say. Are you saying that Trent Lott would support segregation?!? I dont think so. He basically said that things would have been different today is strom thurmond would have won, and that yes, there may not have been some of the problems we face today. I am not sure what his platform said at the time, but he musthave had some good ideas that the Democrats may have had. So, I am still witing for you to prove to me thtat Trent Lott is a racist.

In regard to to Strom Thurmond's 1948 presidential campaign, Lott said, "We're proud of it. And if the of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years." Thurmond's campaign strongly opposed integration in schools and other public places. Thus, by commending Thurmond's racist ideals, Lott certainly comes off as a racist and certainly against integration.

Just wondering... Why do you always write in such a negative, accusatory tone? In so many of your posts, I see things like "you people," "you Democrats," etc. When I see that at the start of a post, it immediately makes me think negatively about the post and less willing to consider the opinions in it. Oh, and I don't find it funny, if that's what you're going for.

Trent Lott is not a racist, he said nothing racist, and I challenge you to prove it. And if you want to start picking people out, how about former Grand Klansman Robert Byrd.

Bushsupporter, are you saying that democrats and librals are racist? I'd watch what you say; especially with repulicans such as Trent Lott and the recently deceased Strom Thurmond.

you guys need to just calm down on the whole "repeat thread" thing. I understand that it is annoying, but it isn't that pervasive. Just lighten up.

Yes, Clinton will run and be coronated as the Democratic nominee. No one else matters, mark my words, she wil be the Democratic Party Nominee for 2008. On the Republican end, Gulianni and McCain will most likely run, but with this whole Kerick deal Gulianni is still a big question mark. I would like to see Dr. Condeleeza Rice run because the racism of the democrats and liberals can be shown bright. Bill Frist is a good man, Bill Owens (Gov. of the great state of Colorado). I would like to see some good conservative candidates in there though - Not McCain or Gulianni. I respect gulianni immensly, but he is just do moderate/wishy-washy for me.
