first of all, i know this topic is a little late, but my computers been crapified for the last week.

did anyone watch clintons speech at the dnc? a lot of politicians are very stiff and unwelcoming when speaking to so many people, but theres just something different about clinton. i'm on my school speech team, so i always notice little things during speeches like eye contact, swaying back and forth, using the same gesture over and over, and varying the pitch of the voice. every time i watch a politician speak i always see something they're doing wrong, except clinton. plus, he's got this charisma and humor that makes it feel like he's having a conversation with you, when in fact he's speaking to millions of people across the country. whether or not you agree with his politics, you have to admit he's a phenominal public speaker and theres a lot to be learned from him.

Yeah, Clinton really is a great speaker. And Kerry isn't half-bad, either. The problem with Kerry lies more in his voice than anything he in particular says or does. It does sort of drone. Oh well.

I will admit that Bush's speeches are a lot more likely to keep people awake. They're fascinating. They're full of complex and amazing words like "hoodwink". In fact, I can't turn Bush off when I see him speaking on TV. He broadens my vocabulary in a way Sesame Street just never could.

And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

i know, its rather unfortunate that kerry is so stiff and impersonal during speeches. his opponents are usually not much better, but his lack of public speaking skills is definatly going to harm him in the polls.

The only thing we can learn from Kerry is that **** can walk.

Clinton, on the other hand, deserves credit for being a very personable guy. I think he abused that gift sometimes, but all politicians do. Anyway, by all accounts, he definitely deserves credit for his ability to connect with people. (yes, people, I don't just criticize Clinton; [I i]DO[/i] give Clinton credit for what he honestly deserves! Smile )

Yes clinton was and still is a great public speaker, but at the same time I think you have to give Kerry his just do for his commendable acceptance speech accepting the Democratic nomination for President. He stated what he had been through, what he plans to do, and how he will accomplish that. Not to get politically either, but what kind of exit plan did George Bush have for the troops in Iraq?

gahh! i put the wrong name in the title. sorry! and don't turn this into politics, i said nothing of the quality of the clinton administration. i simply stated that he is a great public speaker and thats something not many people (including politicians) have.

what does this have to do with kerry? from ym experience, he cant keep a crowd awake for thirty minutes.
also clitnton did speak well. how do you think he hoodwinked America? but speaking by itself does not make you ag reat president at all.
