Tom Delay, house majority leader, was very outspoken about the Schiavo case. The so-called activist judges who ruled in favor of Schiavo's husband greatly upset Delay. Now Delay has suggested that judges be removed if they go against Congress and the President. As far as I'm concerned, the courts and judges are meant to preserve a balance of power and keep the system of checks and balances intact. Delay is basically saying that if the courts disagree with his own opinion, then they should be punished. Is it just me, or is that absurd?

Balance of power. Courts should decide what is constitutional and what is just while congressmen and women are there to make laws and represent us.

Evidently there is no snazzy Republican comeback on this one. It's always nice when the GOP oversteps its boundaries and does our work for us.

That's why it's called checks and balances. That's why we have 2 parties. A polical monoploy in our government is both unreasonable and unconstitutional.

That is absurd to believe that judges should be removed for disagreeing with congress and the president. That's what the judges are there for, justice. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore
