That's jsut being unfairly stereotypical. quote: 3. Politics...I think I want to study social sciences in college...American History/Gov ((AP))
No way. not for me. History is really boring for me. quote:

Very true. Middle America needs to wake up and read about the candidates... quote: They vote simply due to loyalty to a party.
I was talking to my uncle last night about politics and he wouldn't stop praising Bush...And then I started to mention all the crappy things he has done with this country but he wouldn't stop...redneck Floridian... quote: Do you really want all the Sophmores in your high school helping in deciding whom will lead the country?
Do I want to? Sure. Do I want my friends and classmates to? No. Why? They don't have a clue (myself included) about whats really going on, even though we all like to think we do...we really don't. My uncle was telling me that I should run for office because I am always complaining about how he voted and how the President is running this country and I responded: 1. I am only 15 2. I don't feel like always lying. 3. Politics...I think I want to study social sciences in college...American History/Gov ((AP)) 4. I am allowed to say what ever I want, and it isn't my falt what has gone on in the White House. By the way, Colin Powell (sp?) left the administration b/c he felt it was corrupt.

Often I feel that most adults aren't qualified to vote. The majority of America doesn't even know the platforms of the canidates. They vote simply due to loyalty to a party. Sometimes, I think that, in order to vote, Americans must pass a simple test about the history of America. However, that's not very democratic and I suppose that every American adult who wants to vote should be able to vote. I'm torn on the subject. To respond to the topic: 16 is too young. Most 16 year old would just vote for the canidate for whom their parents voted. At 16, most people haven't developed a clear set of personal values. It would be sort of pointless.

Just because you can drive does not mean you can make judgment calls that can affect the entire country. Do you really want all the Sophmores in your high school helping in deciding whom will lead the country? I know I don't.

I don't think 16 is too young. I think if we got a committe together and put the most responsible teens vote in the neighborhood together then it could happen.
