My question or dicussion is would you rather have
a black man
or a woman running America
Both will make a huge impact on America but which one would you prefer to take the spot of President?

The fact that people are worried about seeming sexist or racist for not voting for a particular person is a bigger problem than anything else in this country, I think.

I would never vote for hillary just becuase shes a woman or Obama just becuase hes black. Im all for obama becuase I really think he could make the changes I would like to see in america and becuase he might beable to get a small fraction of the rest of the world to stop hating us. I think hillary is way to power hungry and, as shown by her jfk comment, will stop at nothing to reach the top. she is the most republican democrat I have ever seen.

No kidding.

And yeah, totally love how the original question was based soley on the fact that one of them is a woman and one has African heritage. Nice, very nice.

Personally, even though this really isn't a valid question since Clinton "conceeded," I've been an Obama fan for some time. I like his background, his positions, and that he seems like he has a fresh take on things.

I'm going to agree.
If I was able to vote, I'd vote for Obama.
Not because I'm sexist, but because Hillary seems a little too power hungry, and the fact the Barack is younger and he'd be more open to newer ideas.

America is a country that is blessed with people that has vision for them. The issue of race or colour should not come in now rather they should vote for the person that feel rule them well. As for me ,i prefer Obama not because of his colour but he is a man that a great vision for America.

I would prefer Barack Obama. That's not because I am sexist or racist. I'd be happy with a woman President or a black man President any day. I just happen to think that Obama is the most fit for the job.

I agree that we should look for the qualities of a leader, but dont you want someone who has the same views as you? for example, Romney's religon is different to someone who is a catholic. Mormons have less limitations than the people in the catholic church. Some catholics might have considered his views too free-spirited. Even he or she had those great leadership qualities, that wouldn't be the person you would want to represent you.

But back to the topic on hand. I would pick Barack Obama. He supports everything I see as vital in America's future. The only thing I fear, that was brought up to my attention days ago, is that another JFK fiasco will happen. There are some pretty crazy people out there, and even thinking one race is better than another is abosolutly absurd. I just wouldn't want to risk the man's life for something that could be gone in 4-8 years...

why does it always have to be about race or gender?i know we live in a world were those or deciding factors but why can't people just vote on the people that they think will make a positive impact on there country not race or gender?

I agree. It's really not the most progressive way to vote, by picking based on race or gender. If I had to choose I'd say the black man. I think that would go further and make a larger impact on the world perception of America. I think racial prejudice is much more of an issue than sexism, especially looking through a global lense.

I don't decide based on race or sex and I think it's poor votership to do so.
