I am afraid that the Election will be decided not by a mass of educated voters who have compared the different candidates and carefully made their personal decision about who to vote for, but will be decided by a bunch of uninformed cry-babies who only listen to the Bush-bashing done by the media and have the irresponsible attitude of "anyone but Bush". It is our DUTY as American voters to educate ourselves on the issues and the candidates so that our voices can best be heard. If our country has ANY hope of getting back on track as far as world relations, education, health care, and economy are concerned, we had better hope we really know who we are voting for! It could mean the difference from having a total slob in office to having a strong, knowledgable leader who is ready to get down to business and tackle the hard issues.
So do our country, your family, and yourself a favor, if you are 18 or older: EDUCATE YOURSELVES!!! And if you are under 18, help motivate those you know who CAN vote to investigate the hard issues and what each candidate stands for before they head to the voting booth!
That's all. I'd like to know how the rest of you feel.

Heh, I was reading the original post and wondered why people would vote for "anyone but Bush" when Bush has already had his two terms. Then I saw it was an ancient thread.

I did the same thing... How do they even find these threads?

Neasy...please click on the following link. It will take you to the Youth Noise adoption page where there are a bunch of members who are just dying to "adopt" a new member. I think it would be of great benefit to you.

Welcome! Smile

I totally agree!! However, I think our government should provide citizens with a mandatory class before ballots are placed. Our government needs to educate voters who don't follow politics, before their vote is placed. People, especially young adults, elect candidates due to their views on a single issue, and they often don't know, or care for that matter, any other issues that their party supports. I would love to hear anyone's opinions about providing a mandatory class, in which citizens are lectured about the issues both parties support before turning in their ballots, so that more americans can vote more wisely!

Be educated.

I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha

Newbies have always been picked on (not only on YN), but I wasn't meaning to. I was trying to be helpful.

I can see what you mean, but it sort of is a newbie right of passage, I think. To overcome being picked on as a newbie. Only newbs that are being newbieish get picked on, though. From what I hear, you weren't one of them.

do we have to pick on the newbies? Not that you were, but it is really annoying when people do. Nobody did it to me when I was a newbie, I do not know about anyone else, though...

But I am unbiased. Sure, I may be proud to be an Republican, but I always make an unbaised decision. It is the only sensible thing to do. I mean, you've got to because you may contribute to one of those infamous political blunders, like the election of Presidents Taft, Buchannan, Nixon, Van Buren and Harding. And to prove that I am unbiased, I have supported Tony Blair, an ULTRA liberal, THREE TIMES (His first, second, and upcoming elections), Oh yeah, and I am a big fan of FDR and Zell Miller , both are Democrates.

Thankfully this election has had people like mihcael moore and other leftists put the bush administration into view along with some rightys conutering the attack. Hopefuly this will keep onoccuring for the future elections because it gives the people a new perspective vs. being told by campaign adds and vague speaches of who they should vote for.
If public schools could only emplore the tactical teaching of showing how important it is to listen to both sides. Really the poor choices made in elections and how voting always leads to voting for the " lesser evil" is because of poor education when it comes to actualy teaching students to learn on their own and how important it is to do so.
Until then motivate others including yourself and show how important it is to be out there instead of listening to what the television tells you.
Better informed people make better decisions and dont make the mistake of not caring about politics. For politics do directly affect you with or without your say.

I urge everyone to check out www.FreedomsAnswer.net. It's a program featured by YouthNOISE about getting people to go out and vote. We're trying to break the voter turnout record, so check it.

Anyway, concerning this topic... I feel it's our responsibility to go out and gte people educated. Tell them what unbias websites there are and give them ideas for them to go about improving the quality of their choice.

I believe that voters should research their canidate before making a rash descion. Bush is a great leader and he has really stuck with the country through this whole terroist ordeal. That takes real courage to do his job Smile

Sorry, but educated voting died quite a long time ago. It died along with unbiased sources. Basically its whatever will affect the voter personally the most that will determine the decisions.
