What do you guys think about affirmative action or even title 9? I guess I was just thinking about this with college applications hounding me, but is it really fair to turn ppl. away who are really qualified, just to get racial diversity? What type of diversity do they mean? I am not a racist or anything, but I do think that ppl. should n't be handed things--cold hard elbow grease. Any thoughts?

This is coming at a very interesting time for me and I am happy you asked this. My english teacher assigned a research paper for us on this very topic. I personnally think that afirmative action is okay to a certain extent. As long as they don't start to tip the scales back towards men. It is important to find a balance, because colleges become unpopular with both sexes if the campus is unbalanced. I personally belive that this is being made a bigger issue than it should be. In one of the articles I read, a university would not give allow for a less qualified male to be accepted over a well acomplished female. Colleges just want to find a way to appeal to both sexes. If that means having to balance the ratios, then that is fine with me.
