actually everyone would be worse off because our country wasnt setup to help people for free. Maybe in your dream world where there are unlimited resources and people jumping for joy and willing to work for free to help everyone out.

The government does take illegal immigration into consideration. That is why we let so few immigrants in legally.

First of all i looking at the big picture and what will happens if this conitues. You need to be realistic and stop thinking about the individual and start thinking the country. And you should be more mature about this subject. It shows how immature you are and this is my thoughts and you have no right to call them irrorgant.

Most of them didn't jump the fence so to speak, as our present day mexicans are doing.

And honestly, that was then. We have internal problems we should work out before we allow anyone into this country. We need to help poverty, and unemployment, and schooling. The government can hardly deal with all the people we have now! Are we asking too much to be considered first, most of us native residents, before illegal immigrants?

No. I agree with you. However, can you explain what you meant by this:

But aren't most of the people that are here from other countries who's ancestors came here for looking for something better just as well just as this people are?

Their lives? How are their lives different than ours, Syd? Sure they have different "harder" problems, but honestly, some people can deal with them and some can't. We have problems of our own that each of us find as difficult if not harder to deal with than theirs. They have a home. They have a country. And it's not this one.

On the matter of how can a person be illegal? Obviously it's not the person who is illegal; it is their being here.

I never thought about that in that way. That's an interesting perspective.

Oh, I didn't know that.

I know what you mean. It's ironic to think that that's how this country was founded. People who came from other countries looking for something better and for freedom.

Oh I didn't know that about France, in Spain it's the same thing "sin papeles."

People seem to forget that though(about Mexico).

I don't feel like starting a new thread.

Illegal people. How can a person be illegal? You can do something that's illegal but how can you (a person) be illegal? Does no one care about WHY people actually risk their fucking lives to leave their country and go somewhere else? Oh yeah since they're not from your same country you don't care, it's not your problem right?! The ideas of national identity and patriotism are one's I've never been able to understand, I guess that's why I think like this. I think it's great that people care about their countries, but that doesn't mean you stop caring about everyone else on the fucking planet because they didn't happen to be born in the same fucking place you were.

this is not directed at anyone from here in particular
