Over here in England we seem to have some misconceptions about your president, your policies and your customs. Please rectify these views.

Over here we have a misconception that you guys get sports like "football" and "soccer" mixed up. Just kidding! Anyway I would have to agree that other countries seem to think that all Americans are behind our president and his middle eastern oil wars.. errrr... liberations I mean. The truth is much different. In my opinion, it seems like the people that support Bush the most would be wealthy older conservative Americans. I Myself would most likely fall under the category of a conservative but I voted for Kerry due to my intense hatred of Bush and his foreign policy. The problem here is that the world hears "democracy" and they think that every mistake in government is a reflection of the American people. The truth is that our political system is steeped in corruption and alot of things are out of our hands.

The other half is me. The one thing that gets me is that Conservatives in America are judged by Europeans based on their standard of conservatism. Your standards are different than ours. Conservative there may mean you are only for a little bit of socialist medicine. Here it means we don't support nationalized health care. American's have evolved in their values differently than Europeans. That is one misconception.

Hey Brehon, I'm sorry if I was a little rough on you. A little under half of our country, myself included, does not support the war or our president. I am mostly irritated when other countries classify Americans based on our president.
