A man and a man or a woman and a woman can have as much love for each other as a man and a woman. Most people say that they don't want gays to have rights to be married. Why? They have as much right as straight people. I think most of it is just that a lot of people are scared of homosexuals. Maybe it is because they are insecure in there sexuality.... I don't know, but I do know that it is wrong to stop people that love each other from getting married. If you would like to speak to me on this topic please instant message me. I couldn't agree with you more. I don't the the government should intervene into thier friendships at all. Of course you should know that marriage (benefits) is a type of government intervention.

Again, there is nothing stoping gays from getting a non-legal marriage ceremony.

Even beyond that, it's not an issue of weather the discrimination is unwarrented. It is an issue of weather government intervention is warrented in thier relaitonship. In the case of same-sex relationships it clearly is not. Our government has no incentive for granting same-sex relationships with marriage because the people under our government get nothing from our government giving same-sex couples marriage benefits.

I've heard thsi argument sooo many times...it's just laughable, trying to use logic to justify unwaranted discrimination. Bottom line: discrimination is discrimination is discrimination, and there's no excuse for it.

The same could be said of polygamists, and those who commit incest could it not? Just because people have sex with each other and the capicity of love for each other doesn't mean we all the sudden have to give them the benefits or else we are being hateful. The society gives out the marriage advantages, and the society must benefit from dealing it out.

It's not fear, it a simple fact that while marriage is mutualism, but with people of the same sex, it is comensenalism, it provides no real benefits for our community.

Calling both of these marriage is threat to the definition of marriage.
