Why do people read Dan Brown novels as if he is actually Robert Langdon? Going on these crazy adventures of church cover-ups, lies, deceit and murder?

It says on the cover of these books, "A novel".

Not so many people find it as intriguing that there might exist a world of wizards and evil plots, flying brooms, and magical potions as some other novels detail.

Perhaps people interested in the history of the Church and indeed the world around us should investigate more reliable sources. Once called "History Books", perhaps they'd get more recognition if they were called novels?
