Yes one can't control the other. That doesn't mean they can seperate an individual from either.

Exactly, that's what I'm trying to say. You can talk about religion up the wazoo, as long as no government official (including teachers) tell you one is the right on or not; or force you to give your opinion in class. Forced religion, especially in schools, is outrageous. Forced religion at your home is wrong too, but what are you going to do??

I'm just a bit confused... Since when has religion NOT been in schools. I see kids carrying around bibles and reading them all the time. In some of my classes we talk about relgion, we learn about religion, etc. Do you know why? Because religion is part of culture! The thing with separation of church and state with schools is that there should not be a government/teacher/administration organized prayer. The government can not deny you from getting together with 500 other people of the same faith and praying in a group outside before school. That's your right to assemble. Separation of church and state is there to protect you. Think of your religion. Now, think of the opposite of your religion being the majority in the country...and since so many people want there to be no separation of church and state, that opposite religion would make the rules and YOU would have to follow them. (i.e. Christians vs. Satanists...) Just ponder that...

Idiot. You're too late. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too late. Your nation is the most diverse country culturally on this planet and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it because it keeps getting worse and worse. It's a pity that little close-minded people like you don't appreciate the greatness of other cultures because you're too stuck on a forced mindset that is far from the truth.

Religion can be let back into schools on one condition: they have to teach my beliefs. Anything else just doesn't fly.

Our culture today is dominated by secular humanism and its byproduct, moral relativism. In schools, there is no longer black or white issues, but grey. Believing in absolutes, good and evil, and right and wrong is now ethnocentric. A homosexual agenda is being forced down our throats in an attempt to increase "tolerance", "multiculturalism", and "diversity". AMERICA IS A DEMOCRACY, WHICH MEANS THAT THE MAJORITY RULES. Liberals know that they cannot get their way through the people, so they go through judges, the education system, and the media. Why do you think that liberal talk radio has crashed and burned, while conservative talk radio is pulling in over 20 million listeners a day? Because the majority of Americans do not want to hear leftists talk about what they believe for 3 hours at a time. That is why leftists must sneak their messages into movies and entertainment, instead of coming straight out with it. Until America becomes a mulitcultural country (God forbid), our educational system should reflect our Judeo-Christian heritage. I reeeeeally "hate" to burst your bubble, but america is not a democracy, it's a representitive republic. Let me just warn you that you have "shows how much you know syndrome." Our culture is not "dominated" by secular humanism and moral relitivism. Which is probably why, as you pointed out, liberal radio shows have a lack of listeners. There are simply not many concentrated into one big area, except California. How does something dominate when there is less of the something than the something's opposite? I am prosecuted everyday for my beliefs. I'd say christian conservitives dominate our culture, if anything. What's wrong with there being gray in balck and white? What's wrong with having choices? A choice between black and white is no choice at all and there is no freedom within the choice because the options are limited. But there are an unlimited number of shades of gray, and, if you look hard enough and open your mind, there are colors too. Since when is this "gay agenda" being forced down throats? Have you ever noticed that if the subject comes up in a classroom, the teacher changes the subject? It's avoided ever so carefully. And what is this "gay agenda" anyway. I'm 1/2 gay, I never heard of any agenda I'm supposed to be following. Or are you refering to the list of rights we want regarding marriges and equality? And promoting tolerence is not a bad thing. I sure as hell don't want an intolerent fool throwing a crowbar through my windsheild while I'm driving down the highway. And OF COURSE! you caught us. We bribe hollywood into being sneaky and writting our beliefs into movies. I knew Passions of the Christ would be a hit on that alone! *coughsarcasmsarcasmcough* You tell me a movie and a scene where some kind of "liberal message" is "snuck into" a movie, and I might listen to a few things you might have to say. And america WANTS to be multicultural. That's why it's called "The Great Melting Pot", and not something like "A Melting Pot Limited Only To Those Of Anglo-Saxton Protistant Decent From Western Europe." And our education should not reflect A (not our, because not everyone believes in the bible) judeo-christian herritage, because 1) it's unconstitutional because of seperation of church and state, 2) because the bible is not believed in by everyone and it is not as universal and absolute as you'd like it to be, and 3) You would affend more people by having a religion in school than by not having religion in school. How would jews, muslims, athiests, agnostics, wiccans, vedas, hindus, rastifarians, taoists, confucists, or Daoists feel if their beliefs were not reperesented. Or rather the way you want it, they'd be forced to practice another religion that they do not agree with. You shouldn't be forced to do anything in this country. It's supposed to be free. If you want religion in schools so badly, go to a privite christian academy.

Charles Darwin never said where evolution started. For all we know, maybe "god" put Archebacteria on the earth calling them humans and knowing that that's what those bacteria would evolve to become. The thing is though, that creationism is faith based with no scientific evidence and it cannot be tested.. Evolution is testable, has been tested, and is supported by observation and the fossil record. As for prayer in school. It is unconstitutional. The constitution calls for separation of church and state. Besides that, what religion would you endoctrine upon the schools? Would they be muslim, jewish, hindu, rastifarian, morman, christian, jahova's witness, wiccan, pagan? There are so many religions and they all so avidlly conflict with each other. Celebrating chrismas is offensive to Jahova's witnesses and jews, and athiests. Athiests wouldn't like any of it. The best thing to do is to keep it out, as the constitution suggests to avoid an even bigger controversy than is currently raging.

So what I'm saying is that if they teach religion in school, then it needs to be a two-way street. If we are being taught religion, then we need to learn about all religions, Christianity included.
A teacher in the U.S doesn't need to teach Christianity in school. More often than not every student in the room was raised as a Christian. I do agree with your last sentence... for the most part. It would be helpful is all religions were discussed. I think going over Christianity though would be like telling a fish how to swim.

Uh, I have another choice. Religion already is in schools. If you go to a public school they literally and legally cannot stop you from praying or reading and sharing about the bible as long as you do not disrupt the study of others. I personally think it should stay like that. It drives me nuts that people think they can't show their faith, any faith, in school.

Sorry, I can't type. Teachers should not preach their beliefs. Religion should be taught as long as it is informative and factual. Religion is a large part of world history.

In history you should learn about the origin and believes of all religions, including Christianity. Teachers, however, should preach their religious beliefs.

It wouldn't be fair to people who haven't heard about God or who do not believe in God. I am a Christian and we as Christians are supposed to reach as many people as possible, but I don't think it is up to the schools to do this. People do not appreciate different views being stuffed down their throats. Something that I think might be acceptable, however, would be teaching about religion, not just Christianity, but other religions as well. So many world events, past, present and future, have been centered around religion, it might help to increase a student's understanding of the causes behind some of those events.
