Though walking (or not) into the ballot booth is a very private, individual experience, sharing about the voting experience is an engaging social interaction. Those who can't vote can do so vicariously and those who can vote can compare notes.
How'd it go? Was it fun, a rush, boring or a let down? Was it isolating, bonding, or indifferent? Was anyone supportive, reaching out or making new friends or were you hassled, hustled or bustled by the booths?

I couldn't vote, due to the fact I am 3 and a half years too young, but I spent last night watching coverage of it. I am excited I can vote in the next election, which is dorky, I know. It also conflicted me because, though I did want Kerry to win, it now gives Hilary Clinton the chance to run in 2008. The electons in my town are pretty boring. My town is very small and we still do paper ballots that are fed into the copier looking machine that counts it. We didn't even have people holding signs for the president election outside of the voting place. I was unable to vote this election due to my age, but I got a rush just looking at the people lining up in front of the polls. It was an awesome turnout, I wish we could have this many and more for EVERY election. Hopefully this didn't put a damper on the democratic spirit. Perhaps we could impeach Bush down the line.

I voted through an early ballot. I guess that takes all the "fun" of actaully going to the polls. But at least I had peace of mind knowing that I had already done it and not worry if I was going to make it to the polls on the actual date. But right now I'm sad because the person I voted for did not win. I was up all night hoping and cheering every time Kerry got a state. But the victory never came. *sigh* Well, I guess we don't always get what we want in life. I did my part and supported Kerry. I have peace of mind that I casted my vote and that my voice was heard. What else can I say.

AmericanPride- that's actually illegal. It's electioneering, and she could be arrested. My history teacher yelled at a kid who was doing a mock election in our class and was like, "Bush is gonna win." It's against the law to make any comment about anyone whos running.

AmericanPride, what state do you live in? I think that sort of thing is just disgusting. What if people started thinking that it wouldn't work if they voted otherwise? I have met people who honestly can be persuaded of that. (They know little about technology, believe that they will do irreparable damage if they try to figure it out for themselves, and think that they cannot know better than the person speaking.) People like that bug me cuz it's like they think that they can't think for themselves. I think you should've reported her. That's just disgusting, using the ignorant like that. btw, I live in ND and didn't have to register to vote. I just showed up with my drivers' licence and they let me vote. Gotta love ND!

Democratic all the way! Although my voting experience was kinda boring, I got lucky with the booth being just 1 block from my house, so I just biked there. Besides voting for everything democratic, I voted for Kerry c uz he's the lesser of the 2 evils. And Bush had his chance and failed w/ flying colors. Its time to make way for another Prez and get this economy out of its slump!!! Oh yeah...nobody vote for putting casinos everywhere (no on prop 68!!)

I voted However, i was being pressured by one of the people that worked at the polls. She was this lady that told new first time voters what to do. And you know what, she was only telling me how to select one slot. She didnt tell me how to get the other slots. She just said, "leave it on the democrats and press vote and your vote is counted." I was like lady, dont tell me who to vote for. Your job is to tell me how to work the voting machine. I aslo said, what do i do if i want to switch the slots how do i go about that? Then she was like well you dont want to vote for Libertain, or Republican do you. Your a smart girl i can sense it. In my head i was like i should report her but i didn't feel like waisting my time cuz i had to get to school. ANyway i voted for who i wanted and not who she wanted me to vote for. But i was mad that it had to be like that. I hope the person i voted for wins.
