I wanted to ask suggestions on how to stop the great threat that STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) present in the modern world. It is known that various sex campaigns exist; however, some religions do not approve the use of condoms and thus reject the sex education campaings. What can be done?

I know. I know. Abstinence. Well I can't be a nun. I refuse to believe I should be ashamed of my sexuality, of lusting, of wanting human contact, etc. I won't buy that sex is wrong, because if it was wrong, God would have made us lay eggs or wouldn't make sex pleasurable. Sex, and I have more right to say this than you do because I am not a virgin, is a healing thing. A divine one, at the fact. And I use condoms, and I have no STD nor a child.

Yes you do... maybe not exactly 100% but close enough...I mean, its just practicality really. If you are the type of person who chooses a mate as often as he/she chooses her or his clothes or bags or shoes, then chances are greater for you to have AIDS. But if you stick with someone of the opposite sex whom who know very well and whom you know that that person is not the type to have lots of sex partners, then that person has lesser chances of having AIDS.
Also, people rely on condoms too much when in fact, condoms dont work 100%. I have taken up Microbiology and Parasitology last semester and i know stuff about gonorrhea, syphilis and others.... Its just all about how you run your life and the kind of lifestlye you have.

But however, if you are a person who knows how to choose a partner, a lifetime partner, who has a good background, whom you know perfectly well as in 100% and treats you like a human being, treats you as a friend, as a girlfriend, as a soulmate and as a sister all rolled into one, then, that person only has about 1% chance to lie to you.

So we can really boil it down to this:

Abstinence is the best way not to get AIDS
If you can't do that, be selective, please.
If you are going to have sex, use a condom.
If you don't use a condom, you are tempting fate.
If you have AIDS, sorry. Time's up.
