That's screwed up. The parents should be the one's to implement the "cookie is a sometimes food" rule. Parents need to stop blaming the cartoons and things for their childrens problems... raise your darn kids yourselves and take responsibility!
Why are we dying to live, if we're just living to die?

Personally i don't trust a salad from a "burger joint "
That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

I laughed when McD's came out with the salad menu. It's a burger joint, not a salad bar.

I completely agree with you. Also, why does it really matter if Cookie Monster is going on a diet? First off, he's just a puppet. Secondly, he's not giving up cookies completely. He is just making a few minor modifications to his lifestyle like not eating so many cookies. Thirdly, it's Seseame Street. Isn't it or isn't it not an educational based tv program that is supposed to teach little children something?

I believe ironic is the term. This reminds me of the time when my sister wouldn't eat her green beans unless her toy bear did first.

No I am not kidding. Yes, it is pathetic, even with the low possibility that the 1960's-1970's creators of the two actually thought of it that way. quote: Good for the Blue fuzz ball he now knows that cookies are "sometimes food" and is starting to eat better I'm hopeing this will affect my little cousin because he worships seasme street and blues clues and all those other little kid shows
You moron! Tell your aunt and uncle or the kid's guardians to stop letting him watch so much gosh-dang TV! It isn't JUST Cookie Monster's fault the kid isn't being taught "correctly". As Aguagon stated- there were times when Cookie Monster was very into healthy foods. I would support the boycott.

I don't get it. Cookie Monster has been promoting healthy eating and moderation since I was watching Sesame Street (1988-2004). Does nobody else remember the "Me one healthy dude cause me eat healthy food?" song? Granted, they didn't stress that point to the extent that they could have, but oh well. So long as they don't change him from a furry blue gramatically incorrect gluttunous monster, I'm happy. Unless they start calling him Sid, in which case we're organizing a YN Sesame Street boycott.
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

You forgot a huge one clpo13--- Bert and Ernie are no longer in the same house since they were supposedly a couple. And what about Buster's friend on the PBS show "Arthur"? She had two stepmoms, but the show hardly focused on it and it wasn't aired. By the way, and this one is especially for nina, I don't think any kids actually mimicked Cookie Monster's bad habit and thought of him as a role model. And if they did, the parents should be stepping in, not a broadcasting company. And that's our problem America, we wanna make babies, but to hell with 'em once they "pop out"! And of course, nothing is OUR fault as parents, IS IT? Because we're still the PERFECT little 1950's society in suburbia, right?! OH my GOD, I better shut the heck up now before I give myself another arrythmia attack.

First SpongeBob came out of the closet. Then the Cookie Monster embarked on a diet. What will happen next on Politically Correct Children's Shows? Will Superman lay off the steroids? Will the Wiggles confess to using LSD? Will Pokemon's Ash reveal that he is secretly a Communist? Find out next week on Politically Correct Children's Shows.

I think they may just call him Sid like it says in the article. Sid?? Wow... If kids really paid attention, they would see that the cookie monster never actually eats the cookies. Hmm.. then again, maybe that promotes bullemia...
