The enzyme reverse transcriptase is what keeps the virus replicating(HIV) to stop it is so expensive... but has anyone considered trying soil as a cure? It could work... any suggestions?

quote: cell theory.
Scientists are working to trash the cell theory. Fungi don't have cells either And if you really want to get rid of the disease, you are really going to have to get rid of those with it. It's the bottom line, whether it is that important or not. If all those with the disease die, then the disease dies too. It sounds harsh, but it is the only option if humanity is entertaining the idea of an AIDS free world.

Killing people or let's just say organisms with AIDS won't work. Viruses are capable of being anywhere. They also have the ability to change their RNA

I'm aware that a virus cannot be cured, at least not in the way a bacterial illness can be. Virues aren't even technically alive, at least no going by cell theory. Cell theory states that all living things are made up of cells, and virues aren't a full cell, which is why they need a host cell to reproduce. As I said before, the AIDS virus isn't harmful until it infects the immune system, and it needs to mutate in order to do that (the virus is too large to get through a cell membrane and has to get in through active transport via receptor proteins); therefore if it could be stopped from mutating, it wouldn't be virulent.

I believe you meant inoculation. But anyway, though "cures" as the term is said, may not be possible, it is still possible to find something that would repress the virus and boost T-cell counts to maintain a healthy lifestyle and normal life expectancy.

Not really. It was a one time thibng, a fluke, like spontaneous generation. Am I the only person who understands you cannot cure a virus? You can annoculate for a virus, but not cure it, and we would be hard pressed to do that for this certain disease.

Most people with AIDS do know about it. By then they are completely symptom inflicted, but HIV can be symptom-free in the body for up to 5 or more years. And there is a difference.

All right then. Well, it's fairly obvious you're confusing HIV and AIDS. Also, I'd like proof that if every human with AIDS and/or HIV, it would not exist.

And you know what. It's not like my idea would ever materialize anyway. I was just trying to let my oppinion be known. I don't even care to convince you. So please. Just accept it as my oppinion, drastic but effective.

I dont, and i dont have AIDS. If you believe out society is "an educated society, could refrain from the activities that lead to HIV and AIDS." than you dont know as much as you say. 1. Many people (IN AMERICA) with AIDS dont know they have it 2. Some people (IN AMERICA) with AIDS dont care about spreading it 3. There are people (IN AMERICA) that dont consider AIDS to be a problem that is not an educated society. If it was, it would have stopped spreading years ago. quote: There is always the potential of it resurfacing, even with every host eliminated.

Of course, I know that. I was talking about it assuming you are American. If you check a little further back on this and the Face off version, you'll see I know more about this topic than the average teen. I was saying to not engage in those activities yourself. In order to do that, there would need to be every single human being eliminated. There is always the potential of it resurfacing, even with every host eliminated. Therefore, it's an invalid solution.

quote: Why doesn't it exist? I would think it does.
Because the countries that have the biggest problems with AIDS are third world countries without the slightest education or opprotunities for communication. The countries that do have ample access to education find themselves still having to deal with AIDS spreading quickly due to irresponsibility and the resiliance of the HIV virus. quote: There is absolutely no guarantee that killing over 40 million people would ensure the elimination of the virus.
