The other day, I read an article in the newspaper that said Disney would sell "healthier" food at its theme parks, and that any food place associated with them for a promotion would also have to comply. The article said that they felt responsible for the nutrition and well-being of the children at the park. I say that it isn't Disney's problem, and that if anything needed to be done about the park visitors' health the visitors would do something about it. It is a parent's responsibility to feed his/her children and decide what's good for the kids, not a theme park's. If the parent feels that his/her children should not be eating fatty foods, he/she will not let the child eat it. Disney is not the parent of the children, and Disney should not be posing such restrictions on its food.

Disney land isn't the happiest place on Earth without junk food! Thats the best kind of food!(not for ur health) I say let the kids eat! P.S. (FUNNEL CAKE IS THE BOMB!)

I don't have a problem with Disney making its foods healthier, really its their choice, though I agree that it is not their responsibility to hijack a parent's decisions about what their kid eats and does not eat. There are already far too many things in this world telling people what they can and cannot eat or do and even more organizations attempting to take away a parent's raising of their own child.
Summary? Go Disney for making "healthy" foods. Society, let me give my kid a smootie!

I think it doesn't really matter if Disney makes a healthier menu. They are just trying to improve the health of the people who visit. I think it's good that they sell healthy food.

Oh, okay. I don't like radical people, lefts or rights, but left-handed folks are okay.

Yeah, I meant the band. They alone are okay, but they serve as the collective intellect of a lot of "radical" leftist youth. In other words, they take everything in their lyrics as the absolute truth and fight tooth and nail defending an ideology that they may know nothing about.

I go to Disneyland a lot, sometimes twice a month, I find it insulting when someone says they are evil, but anyway I guess you have to be a DD like me to understand . Anyway Disney is just trying to protect themselves, this way the media can't decide to talk about how much junk Disney sells. I do agree it is up to the parents to feed their kids healthy, you can't blame someone else for YOUR choices, Disney didn't buy your kids that junk, YOU did. I have a question, how come no one bashes Six Flags, I mean at least Disney has only had a few incidents where someone died , and most of them were when the person that died was at fault anyway.

I think your right. It isn't Disneys responcibilaty to make sure that their customers eat healthy. It's the customers responcibilaty. I don't know about you, but when ever I go to a theme park I know i can expect my favorite junk foods. Hot dogs, popcorne , cotton candy and chocolate. Other people should know and expect this too. If their really all that concerned then they should try packing their own lunches. Besides that, Dsiney land resorts and hotels arleady have a number of low fat meals ( I should know my mom made me eat a salad a day when I was in disney world this past spring) and many restarunts to choose from. So if they really tried I'm sure they could find a low fat mealwith out disney doing away with any of there not so healthy ones.

I agree that a free-market economy is better than a state-controlled economy, but only so long as people recognize the responsibilities that come with freedom. Syd: Do you know why you think all companies are evil and why you hate capitalism, or are you simply subscribing to these views because Anti-Flag told you to?

I don't like this computer. Ahem. To Sydney: one more person who learns to spell is one step closer to a smarter generation, no? To clpo: I didn't know I had an opinion on that, but it seems I share yours.

A free market system is the best available in today's world. State intervention just screws stuff up royally. Look at Britain. Up until the late-seventies, they were a welfare state. The rich were heavily taxed and the poor got off with free housing, health care, air travel...you name it. But after they privatized industries like British Steel and British Airways and mostly dismantled the welfare state, their economy boomed. It may not be "fair," but it's a whole lot better than having your country collapse because no one has the means to buy any of the stuff they're making. And actually, free markets are the most fair because anyone can enter into them and participate in the market. Most state-run markets require a license to participate in the market and not every prospective business can get a license. Kind of off-topic (okay, a lot off-topic), but I figured it was worth posting.

Three things to say about this: 1. Every company is designed to get your money. That is what capitalism is all about. 2. Whoever said that we were trusting Disney? 3. Learn to spell.
1. That is why every company is evil... and why capatilsm should be aboloshed. 2. True... 3. I'm not the onlyone who doesn't spell properlly on here.
