Just like the subject asks. That means straight males who have never had intercourse with another male.

Not that I doubt you, but I would like a source on this infomation. I've been following how or where HIV and AIDS originated and there is only a brief account of similar information that I have found so far.

Gah, common sense. Yes, you may ask a question. But that is as if I asked "how many conservatives do you know that are not incest-practicing hicks?", it's implying I believe something. See?

Celtic, with you being so knowledgable on grammar, I thought you could tell I was asking a question, not making a statement. You dissapoint me.

I'd like to take bauhaus's question a step further, how many of you know any white heterosexual males you have ever contracted aids from intercourse?

The whole point of this thread was to show it depends on your demographic. Like you said AFRICA, do we live in africa? you might but I dont. I'm I at a larger risk because a bunch of women in africa have it?

I was asking the Queen of hell. By the way, she said "like 300" about a conservative state. Which means that the total number is actually rather high, even if that is the minimum.

quote: I did some research, the estimate of people who have HIV in the US is 929,985, there are 295,160,302 people in the US. You can figure out how low the risk is.
I read this thing in Health about three months ago and it said New York had the most people with AIDS/HIV. And California came next. Then in North Dakota they had like 300 people in total.

One comes to mind...Magic Johnson.I personally know no straight males with AIDS, but that is because I am one of the lucky few that don't know anyone who has AIDS.But seeing as women have the highest number of new cases, I'm thinking a lot of straight males have AIDS. Or else all these straight women wouldn't be getting it. It is stupid to assume that a diease has a sexual preference. Maybe when AIDS was first discovered, yes. But so many people got it from blood transfusions, drug use, and other things that had nothing to do with sex that soon the straight community was just as infected. I hope noone uses being straight as their protection.

quote: hmm dying a slow painful death with a bunch of tubes hooked up to you, knowing the fact youre going to die... OR never knowing what life is in the first place.
A bunch of tubes?! Bauhaus, this is an assumation that is completely incorrect. People who have HIV or even AIDS do not live with tubes in them. The closest thing to "tubes" would be daily pills and injections, which obviously sucks but I think the experience of life outweighs the sucky parts. And even people who do not have any diseases know "the fact youre going to die". HIV/AIDS does not lead to "a slow painful death", like some other diseases do. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which means that one has a very weak immune system. Without acquiring diseases other than HIV/AIDS, a person is not generally in any more pain than disease-free people. The way that HIV/AIDS-positive people die painfully is with other diseases that their deficient immune system could not fight off. In other words, the pain would not come from HIV or AIDS, but rather a different, opportunistic disease (because HIV/AIDS has NO common symptoms.)

actually, I'm sick of hearing everyone say youre gonna get hiv/aids if you sleep around, its untrue depending on your demographic, you're more likely to get other things before HIV. I wouldnt say i'm "pro-gay" i'm equal everything.
