I think the numbers on how many people have it are accurate. When you get tested at planned parenthood (which is where most likely candidates will go) they make you sign forms that tell you that your information will be turned over to the state and federal HIV people, but not to your employer etc. etc.
When someone has HIV they are added to a registry that exists to help keep track of HIV victims. Why they have this I don't know but it does exist.
If you want complete privacy about your test results planned parenthood can refer you somewhere else but it costs alot more than $5 to get confidential results.

poly simply means more than 1, not neccessarily many. And AIDs isn't caused unless the HIV virus is present. If none of the involved people have HIV, no one in the poly relationship would get AIDs (garunteeing that no one is having sex outside the relationship).

I don't see how polygamous relationships would cause AIDs. As long as the people included didn't have sex with anyone outside of the relationship. Granted, that's not what people think of when they think of polygamous relationships.

I don't know... Most people who died of AIDS because of unhealthy sexual lifestyle, the usage of used needles and polygamous relationships.

the actually recored number of people with hiv in the US is roughly 9,500... the estimate is 929,985.... so yeah

People aren't very open about their sexuality or sexual orientation, let alone a health problem that is caused generally by their habits. How many people would actually tell someone? Especially a heterosexual or "closeted" homosexual male? I believe many would be too afraid of stereotypes and prejudices to tell many people if anyone at all. And women as well, would probably not walk up to someone and say " Hi, my name is ____ and I have AIDS." We probably all know at least one person that has HIV or AIDS, but do not know that because they refuse to make us aware of that.

That's less than 1%. It's about 3 out of every 1000 people.

I did some research, the estimate of people who have HIV in the US is 929,985, there are 295,160,302 people in the US. You can figure out how low the risk is.
