Big GrinPink Why is it that so many people die so young? And some old people will live for a LONG time.

Because of more recklessness, less caution, more rush, less mind and body maintainence, and more ways to screw up for a short time reward... Especially in the US... And of course there's illnesses, but that was always there

Because this world is crazy.

What if what you think is great, really is great, but it's not as great as something greater?

Hm, I would say that your life expectancy are heavily based on lifestyle and diet. The japanese are known to have long lives because of their diet of mainly raw seafood. Also, stress is a major factor, and how you deal with it will definately affect how long you'll live. Pollution is a (small?) and significant factor too, somehow.

Top Ten causes of Death in the US among 15-24 year olds (numbers are deaths per 100,000 population):

. . . Motor vehicle accidents 10,624
. . . All other accidents and adverse effects 3,248
2 Homicide and legal intervention 6,548
3 Suicide 4,369
4 Malignant neoplasms, including neoplasms of lymphatic and hematopoietic tissues 1,642
5 Diseases of heart 920
6 Human immunodeficiency virus infection 420
7 Congenital anomalies 387
8 Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and allied conditions 230
9 Pneumonia and influenza 197
10 Cerebrovascular diseases 174

Statistics from The Disaster Center

The number one cause of death is car accidents. Always wear your seat-belt. I lost a 19 year old friend this summer because he was in an accident and not wearing his seatbelt. Thrown 50 feet from the car and dead on impact. Never drive drunk, and don't let anyone you know drive drunk..

I think it's because life nowadays is getting faster by the minute. Everyone wants what they want right this second and they don't slow down long enough to really truly take care of themselves.

I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha

Razz I think it's because some people take care of their bodies, and then some don't. A lot of younger people today are doing drugs and drinking to were it damages our bodies and minds, so, we are more open to diseases and health problems.
