You guys today I just learned I have a mild form of epilepsy. Apparently about one in ten people do. There's an easy test you can take online to see if you have it. It only takes 30 seconds, it's kind of cool. There's some lettering in the background that only mild epilectics see, and when they focus on it it makes it seem like there's this flashing.
So I'm not saying that test won't work but if you got to a doctor that will give you the best results I have epilepsy and so does my dad I suggest going to a doctor =]
It's ironic that the human race exerts such considerable effort to locate other habitable planets while being so hellbent on destroying the habitability of our own planet.
Karategirl: It is if nobody knows he has it and he gets his driving license, has a seizure when driving, loses control, and kills somebody. But if its diagnosed, no, not really, as long he is put into a situation when paying attention makes a life of a difference.

Some forms of seizures, you don't know you have them, and they are rarely visible. A friend I know has seizures where he completely freezes up. It looks like he is looking off into space or daydreaming, he won't look around or even blink, then he will just snap out of it and continue doing what it was he was doing, not even knowing anything happened. Luckily there were able to get him help early on, for its easy to tell he is having one, for he will not respond to any outside stimuli.

This test is really great just so that you know, there are different thresholds that can be triggered by any number of different criteria and yes one is flashing lights, and there could be a number of others, smells, lack of rest, sinus conditions, etc. What happens when a grand mal seizure occurs is analogous to a summertime electrical storm that sweeps over an island. Basically, it shuts off all other communication with the outside while the storm(seizure) is going on and yet for a short while before the storm the patient knows that the storm is coming and can do nothing about it. They can't ask for help or run for shelter but they do sometimes know enough to take themseves to safety. However if they are missled by totally brain-dead idiots whoes illegitimate cross-bred inmate parents that never taught them the correct path to take, then their parents are the ones at fault, right? But then again, I could be wrong!
my friend has mild epilepsy and thats nothing to do with lights something to do with bashing her head too much or something. but ppl laugh and i dont find it funny.

If you think you have epilepsy see a doctor. And besides the flashy light test is only testing for one form of epilepsy. Not every epileptic responds to flashing lights.

Well, if you'd had seizures before, you usually can tell even if it's a really mild one. My aunt was talking to her nephew (only 4 or 5 yrs old) who has a lot of seizures (they don't really know what's wrong with him) and every once in a while he would just say the word seizure. Later that day he had a serious one, and when they were in the hospital the doctors told them that he had had other little ones throughout the day. My aunt didn't think he was actually having seizures, because he only stopped for like a second to say seizure and would go on talking about whatever. Even though they were that small, he knew he had them.
What if what you think is great, really is great, but it's not as great as something greater?

I can't quote the source because I dun remember and this data is probably so outdated it isn't funny anyways but you can be having a seizure and not even know it. Facial twitches and what not. That shakin foaming at the mouth thing is what's known as a grand mal seizure and it is very rare among epileptics. My mom used to have those then she was put on meds and when she goes off them she has black out seizures. Which is basically just passing out not twitchiness or anything like that. She wrecked her car once because she had a blackout seizure.
