Well, he/she was not following "the rules" any way you put it. By now, there are somewhere around 100 rules if not more, so I gfigured there had to be a few broken in there. Heck, I bet we've all broken some rules by now. I could actually understand the message, for the most part, it was just to make a point. And there already is an organization called UNAIDS. It'd be good to search that type of thing before making such a statement.

Freedom, are you talking to liberal? That's what I'm assuming. He/she did use punctuation. And I could understand what they were saying. Basically, they were saying we need an organization to get money for scientists to find a cure. Wow, use punctuation. By the way, what you said made very little sense.

CuRE- SIMPLEST SOLUTION: Instead of donating money to "NGOs" give your mone to an organisation which is:- Willing to distribute FREE GENERIC/ORIGINAL(I prefer the latter) Drugs to poor people. If there isn't any such organisation, then WE can Start One. We need PUBLICITY CAMPAIGNS, Scientists Who Can Be paid with money received from DONATIONS will work to develop a cure as well. ALL WE NEED IS A WEBSITE(LIKE THIS ONE). No Govt. (LIBERAL/GOP) can be expected to solve a prob. which isn't POPULIST(like AIDS) and fetches few votes. WE CANT WAIT ACT NOW WE CAN EASILY HIRE honorary WORKERS TO DISTIBUTE SUCH DRUGS. dont put good work on hold.
u cant be neutral in good(liberals) v/s evil(fundamentalists)

Current data estimates that if it isn't stopped, anywhere from 75 million to 100 million total deaths from the beginning of the AIDS epidemic to 2020.

this is a topic that worries me. it is not something that we can just overlook. if a cure is not found then how many people do you think will have AIDS in the next 20 years?

I agree with Barkid (miracle, I know). You should always have safe sex and have regular blood tests and such just in case. Better to know.

I have had a total of 5 sexual partners in my life and I only used a condom with 1 of them. 2 months ago my girlfriend (now my ex) suddenly got nervous that we were having unprotected sex since she was on the pill and requested for me to get an HIV test. My initial reaction was horror because it's not something you want to think about. My second reaction was to think about the people I had slept with unprotected and try to rationalize that there is no way they could have had HIV for whatever reason. My third reaction was to think that my girl was right, and she had a right to know, as did I. My mother works at planned parenthood so I set up a test through her office and showed up at the appointed time. Nowadays you can get a q-tip swab of your mouth rather than a blood test with a 1% degree of variance, since I'm terrified of needles I took this option. It took me 10 minutes to fill out the questionnaire in the lobby: How many partners have you had? How many times have you had unprotected sex? How many times have you had anal sex? How many times have you had unprotected anal sex? Have you ever been raped? Do you use intravenous drugs? Have you ever had sex while under the influence of drugs or alchohol? etc. etc. etc. After filling out the questionnaire I had to wait a half hour in the lobby and I started reading a bunch of pamphlets like "You have HIV" and "Life isn't over". These pamphlets scared the hell out of me because I started thinking about how my life would change if I found out I had HIV, I would have to tell all the girls I slept with, devastating their families as well as my own. I could infect anybody at the bar if I cut myself and left blood around. I would have to find a way to pay for medicine, and eventually I would die a slow horrific death. The swab test takes about 4 minutes but the results take about 2 weeks. For 2 weeks me and my girlfriend allowed nervous thoughts to race about our heads and of course we didn't have any sex. I took my concerns to my mother and she said "why would you be worried, you always used condoms like I taught you right?" I didn't have the heart to tell her no. When the test results arrived I found out that I was negative, but they counseled me on my risky sexual tendencies and told me I could still get HIV. I aksed them how many people had tested positive at this particular clinic and they told me only 1 so far, an older man. The moral of this personal story is that it's better to be safe then sorry, if you have any doubts you should take the time to get an HIV swab test, they cost $5 dollsars at most planned parenthood clinics. It helps to find something to distract you while you wait for 2 weeks, I recommend reading some literature on safe sex.

People do not deserve to have bad things happen to them, and if that is what you believe I feel sorry for you. You are obviously void of any human compassion. Yes they made a mistake and yes maybe teens with AIDS should have listened to those who told them that abstinence will help you to not contract the disease, but because they didn't, and they made a mistake, that doesn't mean that they deserve to die because of it.

Ha ha ha. You really don't even know what promiscuous means, do you? And how can someone be 50% virgin? Come on, jamaica. You're digging yourself a hole. And there you go, instantly accusing me that I am sexually active. Is that your only means of rebuttal? Geez... Oh and I will tell you, along with bauhaus and CelticNewAger, that about 70% of Americans have HPV-an STD- and not know it. That includes even those who have one sexual partner. And penetration is not even necessary! That practically makes it a touch-and-go virus. There are few to no symptoms, which explains why so many people don't know they have it. Just making you aware...
