Please, let's not add morals to this. Morals depend on the person, what may seem wrong to someone else may be OK or right to you.

Yes, but your chances are still lower if you use condoms and limit your partner number. I believe if you sleep around you will definetly get AIDS one day, condom or no...

AIDS is a horrible disease, and it almost definately will ruin your life, but like i said before, Not everyone has a choice. Just because you get AIDS doesn't mean that you slept around, and it doesn't necassarily mean that you don't respect yourself, but this has become the assumption that many of us have taken, and that is why so many stereotypes that aid in ruining the lives of people with the disease have been created. And i'm not sure if anyone knows the statistic that condoms are only 97.7% affective, this means that safe sex isn't necassarily safe.
practising abstinence is a good way to prevent the disease, but its also not the only way you get it. then there is the fact that there is a chance whoever you saved yourself for didn't save themselves for you

That's what protection is for.

Ok, you don't have HIV right now. You're coming home from school, minding your own business. And you walk by a park you usually go to, feeling it's safe, suddenly man jumps out of a bush, rapes you. Was that your choice? No.

Yes, people are born with AIDS. People get raped. People have sex just to put food in their stomachs.

But those who don't have HIV have a choice. Will you give someone the chance to take away your future? Will you give someone the chance to end your life for one night in bed? It sounds exaggerated but it's not. AIDS is a terrible disease, there is no cure for it. A simple cold can make you sick, a cut might never heal, the pills you take make you sick. You have to boil all your drinking water. Friends and family may turn away from you. Once you get it, you will die in a matter of years.

It may not be cool to be abstinent..and maybe your partner will lie that he or she doesn't have AIDS..but you have a choice whether to love yourself, to save yourself, or throw your life away just because you didn't think about your future.

I have dreams, I have big dreams. That's why I'm protecting myself for my future husband, that's why I'm going to love myself by not giving in to what society says is okay. We all have a choice, and it'll shape our future whether we think about our future or not. Once you recieve AIDS there is no turning back. There is only regret, regret that we had been so ignorant..

Your life, your love, and your dreams are precious..

You're worth waiting for...
And so am I.

Ok everyone, I'm sorry but if you get AIDS in a 1st world country that's your fault! If you chose to sleep around with anyone you chose and then randomly get the disease, heck it won't bother me at all. Now if your in a 3rd world country, say India, which I have been to so i can speak about it, and you have nothing better to do to get money, then that is a different issue. However, we are in America, so even if your dumb as a door nail, you can still get a job at a fast food resturant! There really is no excuse for sleeping around for money! So I have simpathy for the people in Africa, India, and other 3rd world countries, but not for anyone to here!

You must be kidding, also agreeing with what dnamyot said, I'd like to add you can be born with AIDS thanks to a parent too.

there is no way that you can say that everyone who has AIDS in a first world country its there own fault. People lie, people get raped, these are things that happen in "First world" countries, whether you choose to ignore it or not

Wrong. The partner can lie. Yes, it can even be your husband/wife.

Pissed? I'd be enraged if I got HIV from a guy I trusted/loved and he lied to me of it...

I feel sorry for these fellow teens; however, a person reaps what they sow, and Aids is the harvest of bad (sexual) morals and a lack self-control.

Abstinence is obviously the most reliable way to prevent getting AIDS, but is it realistic for a long term goal?

No, and niether is getting rid of AIDS. People are going to contiue thier self-destuctive lifestyles of sex when ever feels right, and people are (unfortuately) going to contiue to get infected with AIDS, perpetuating an cycle until the end of time or until people wake up and see the foolishness of thier actions.

If someone is infected and knows it, but doesn't tell anyone and still has sex, should this person be tried as a murderer?

Just wait until you get married to start having sex. But even then make sure that both of you get tested.

I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha
