A thread to discuss crimonolgy (sp?), killers, serial rapists, etc. It would be interesting to learn that I'm not the only one interested in such.

I'll start off with cannibalism. I find it very interesting when a killer is also a cannibal. I wonder how it would feel like to eat a human. The weirdes one I'd say is sexual cannibalism, what can possibly be arousing of eating a human? Agression cannibalism, the one where power and control are what the act achieves, I understand more. Killing itself brings one to think you're in power, eating the victim may just close the deal.

(Note: For all YNers who have made suspicions that I am a murderer or something, there is a reason for my behaviour and openness towards crime/killing, but I think I'll write an article on YN of it instead.)

No, forensic pathologist, I think.

The only reason I'm going to do it is because being a criminologist won't give me enough $$$$.

It's mortician in English. My friend wants to be one when she's older.

That's the one aspect I'm not too keen on. I like watching, reading, and researching but I don't actually want anything to do with deaths. I want to take an anatomy class if I can fit it in my schedule because my mom had a lot of fun in the one she took for massage school. It looks interesting.

But I wouldn't even dissect the pigs in biology. I had to look away.

Lucky you. My parents are, to say the least, "concerned".

I've been concidering being an autopsy doctor (I know that isn't the name, but I don't know how to say it in English... patólogo forénsico).

My dad is into it too. Mom says when he saw it on my list, he spent like hours in B&N, looking through all the different reference guides to make sure I had the best one. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's listed my subjects, not names.

I think my favorite cannibal is Albert Fish. He did everything. Well, and Ed Gein of course.

Gah! I envy you!

My favorite serial killers have been the cannibalistic ones, especially Andrei Chikatilo.

I've always been interested in this type of stuff. I'm the kid who always goes to see the newest horror movie first...and have actually seen the old ones before the remade ones. My dad gave me the A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers for Christmas, along with DVD copies of the orignal Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho. Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King are two of my heroes. My favorite serial killers to research are Jack the Ripper (just because he was never caught) and Ed Gein (because he is virtually unknown but basically the original inspiration for Silence of the Lambs, Psycho, and Texas Chainsaw).

But lately I haven't been able to divulge myself in my interest because I've been having trouble sleeping. None of it scares me while I'm actually reading it or while I'm actually watching it. But when I try to go to sleep, I can't. And I need my sleep for school. I'll get more into it during the summer.

Rape has always interested me.
I wonder why some people do it.
Is it the thrill of pulling someone into corner and taking something away from them that can never be replaced?
Is it the fear and the pain in their eyes?
Or is it because the rapist is hurting and wants to hurt someone else?
