I am an avid fox hunter and like to hunt on safari. What kind of hunting strikes your fancy?

Well, it does make a difference who is the major predator of wildlife. Because of the food chain, it does matter who eats what in the big picture. But since it isn't just a small group of humans who hunt what, say, an eagle, was to hunt, it often affects the food chain.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not implying that humans are undermining the food chain and the balance of the world's species; but there's been a huge unprecedented increase in endangered and extinct species, which is definitely not coming to an end. Fisheries are the problem area we hear of most. Eventually this behavior will make extinct more and more species, which will affect the earth--and therefore humans--negatively. Hopefully not in our lifetime, though. lol. It will happen but who knows what factors may affect our world in hundreds of years?

It's not about "deserving" death. A pet is someone's property and companion. They're there for our entertainment and comfort. Wildlife on the other hand are just that, wild. They've got no inherent right to live, and there no difference if we kill them or some other predator does. That doesn't mean, however, that we should abuse them.

True, and while I agree with your point that hunting and then using the meat has nothing wrong with it, I also disgree with your implication that pets deserve more respect/love/care than wildlife.
Death is obviously natural and half of the function of the circle of life, but wild animals are not more deserving of death by humans than pets.

What if it's fun and also serves a function in a wildlife management system? I agree that people are asses if they waste the meat, but if your of the opinion that's it's only ok for "survival" you've got an oversimplified view of things.

I'm an occasional hunter, and have killed my share of squirrels, ducks, geese, and other cute animals. I've snapped animals necks with my bare hands if the shot didn't kill them.

I also love animals. I have a fairly extensive knowladge of animal communities and habits. I'm not ignorant, and I'm certainly not cruel. Death is a natural cycle, and is needed in the wild. Pets and wildlife are two different things.

huntings gross, especially when the blood comes out. you also musent kill mother foxes or their kittens will die. and it will be your fault. and i know foxes babies arent kittens but their just as nice so keep your mouth shut about that.

written by a five-year old maybe? I totally agree with you, but you sound like a moron lol

I am very much against hunting for sport. Maybe if it were necessary for survival, but I never could harm another living creature if I didn't need to. I work with animals all the time, and I have no desire to hurt them or kill them. Perhaps when one gains a better understanding of something, knowledge and the interest to know more overcome the basic human urge to kill. It has for me.

I also go hunting, not much though since it is hard to find the time. I go deer hunting. Went out yesterday with a breakaction 20 guage(slug ammo.). Didnt find any thing but I tried for about 2 hours. Not even a trace. It was weird. The reason most people in my family have ever gone hunting, is not just for the enjoyment of killing something, or just for the enjoyment of gutting and cutting it up with friends, is because it is a nescesary evil. Something that alot of people must do to survive. See, I live in the boondocks, and any food we can get, is good because of the scarcity of money.

Fixed that for you. My that was a hard argument to counter. Kudos on the complex reasoning backed by factual information.

I know. I was thinking of going into the delicate balance that has exsisted on earth for thoudands of years and to explore the nature of humans from Neandertal to Homo Sapiens to Homo sapien sapiens as we are today; but only to get in touch with some primal desire that can only be unlocked by studying those masterful primal creatures that went before us. But now I don't have to because the eloquent logic from the one with such an eloquent name made a point so powerful in it's complexity that all arguments which come after it will be comical in their futility. I stand truly amazed.

I've just never understood the point of hunting, how someone could find fun in it, and why someone would want to kill another animal for sport.

I'm not against it as in wanting to ban it...I'm just personally against it as in I would never do it or want to do it and I don't think I'd really want to hang out with a bunch of people who go hunting all the time. Though that's kinda difficult since I live in NC.

Not usually. I like to buy surplus ammunition because I use a M1903A3. Man it's an awesome gun!
