Where did HIV come from?

The most recent presentation on the origin of HIV was presented at the 6th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunitistic Infections (Chicago, January 1999). At that conference, research was presented that suggested that HIV had "crossed over" into the human population from a particular species of chimpanzee, probably through blood contact that occurred during hunting and field dressing of the animals. The CDC states that the findings presented at this conference provide the strongest evidence to date that HIV-1 originated in non-human primates. The research findings were featured in the February 4,1999 issue of the journal, Nature.

We know that the virus has existed in the United States, Haiti and Africa since at least 1977-1978. In 1979, rare types of pneumonia, cancer and other illnesses were being reported by doctors in Los Angeles and New York. The common thread was that these conditions were not usually found in persons with healthy immune systems.

In 1982 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officially named the condition AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). In 1984 the virus responsible for weakening the immune system was identified as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).

They'll laugh because they control the opinion of the American public. If they were to air that, it would cause public uprising. Do you believe a media company would want to be sued by the government or at least cause that kind of conspiracy, and then lose out to all of the other companies that compete against them? No! Of course not, it's common sense. In fact, the information has probably already been shown to them, and they simply refused to air it.

Did you not read what I said? At least 96 pages of documents, including the 1970 House Appropriations bill where they funded this US Special Cancer Virus Program, is in the book.

It doesn't take long to figure out who the free-thinkers are here, that's for sure...


Of course the govt has a cure to this disease, but what happens to the entire "industry" when that cure gets in the hands of the victims? Whole lotta people start losing a whole lotta money.

The Spanish flu was a govt-created virus as well. It's amazing what just a little research and an open mind can do to you.

Then it would be easy to find more effective treatment and a vaccine or cure. Research would go into the "ape" strain, and the 'in-between' strains that are rare for either species to catch. If one was to research it extensively, it is found that the intestines are actually the first area of attack. This might lead a person to believe that the virus COULD have originated from eating something, as food is processed into the bloodstream at this location. However, many theories are supporte in their own manner. I find northstar's more in-depth theory very compelling... Northstar, do you havve a citation, a website or book even?

AIDS origionally came to the population through apes, that is true, but it was not consumption of ape flesh, but indirect contact with the blood and ape pancreases. In the 1970's, the British govermnent in the Congo went about inocculating the tribesman of the Rift Valley for polio. To make a weakened strain of polio for a vaccine, you need to use tissue. The tissue used was the pancreus andd overies of apes. The doctors employed pygmies to trap hundreds of female apes, and sent them to laboritories to make the innoculation. Once it was completed, the vaccine was given to all the tribesman of English East Congo, and, due to a surplus, it was exported. This is how the AIDS virus was able to directly enter the bloodstream of the first human victims. So it was really the doctor's fault.

Once again, Joey and I are on the same page when it comes to this. Like I just said on another post... nobody believes that our government would do this stuff to us do they? That's what makes them the perfect canidates. Oh, that and they're politicians.

As I remember, it was a "vaccine" to "Hepatitis" (?) in that time frame of 1970-1976... And yes, it would be probable that a government would attempt to extinguish the inferior, morally corrupt and weaker of the human race, would it not?

Another good question would be this "If the US govt. created Aids why did they release it on gays to test it?" I suppose you would blame Reagan for that decision as well?
In all Honesty though Aids has hit those below the poverty line the hardest, not just in the US but around the world, so I can see where our govt may have made it to cull the population.

You are an idiot to believe that. I don't believe you have done honest, comparable researching on the origin of the virus. To be honest, I've checked into it with many other sources than Joey's. In fact, I began researching the origin of HIV/AIDS in humans this past summer for a bioethics class when I discovered several sites claiming the government (US government, by the way) had been researching several biological weapons, and one that (do not quote me on this) 'had an effective destructive nature to the human body, and most importantly the immune system'. To me, it is obvious it was man-made. The true question that has yet to be completely proven is "Why?".

This is untrue... what is true is Reagan's gay hating self ignored the problem when it first started, look where we are now...
