*laughs* No, your not the only one. When you're a little kid the concept "gay" isn't really an issue. Its just another thing that grown-ups are always arguing about, and you suppose your parents are right, whatever they say, so you don't worry about it.

They just ruin the image of the cookie monster. He's a cookie monster, he's not going to make children eat cookies. That's why he's called the cookie monster cause he eats cookies.
COOOKIIIEEEESSSSSS SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD! come on it's a puppet on sesame street he's not going to make kids fat. It's parental negalgence that makes kids fat
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done"."
I probably eat too much sugar, but I'm 5'9" and 127lb. so I guess its not really a problem for me. As for CM, of course its absurd, but it shows how absurd our society is. What little kid ever stuffed his face (if not in mockery) because he saw CM chokin' on a cookie? Of course there is the aspect that if some little big dude was on a diet, it might... comfort or encourage him that CM was on a diet to. But if the little kid is just obese, its a combination of: 1.parents don't give a straw what junior eats, whatever CM does. 2.the little kid's an addict,so he laughs at CM, who boldly states "cookies are occational food" And what about Santa? He gorges himself on cookies every Christmas. Are we going to take away Santa's cookies and milk and replace them with...rice cookies and skim milk?
So, in my opinion, the whole thing is practicly a joke. Pass the milk!

true. I'm borderline obese and my cholesterol is 142. Adn I don't eat fruits and vegetables very often. (Not bragging, just pointing it out)
Wow... Um just want to update that that isn't true anymore! My cholesterol has risen slightly though basically I eat only fruits and veggies... Crazy. And yes, hub, to finally answer your question... There is a little automated recording of this elderly wise-cracker telling jokes and making fun of her husband and neighbors.
Honestly, what little kid ever took their cues from cookie monster? I don't see them worried about kids moving into trash cans because of oscar or moving into a giant nest because of big bird or doing other things just because children's tv characters do them. Besides, given the choice, I think almost every little kid is going to want to eat a cookie over something like vegetables or whole wheat bread. I don't know...maybe that's just me...
Yes, I did understand what the commercial was trying to say. I just thought it was a stupid way to combat unhealthy diets, because.. well, read my previous post. Having a teenage girl eating a slice of chocolate cake and saying that it's unhealthy has so many other connontations than just, "Eat healthy."
If I were going to design a commercial for healthy eating, I would film exactly what went into McDonald's cheeseburgers and then show people eating them and getting food poisoning.
Even people who eat fruits and vegetables all the time can be overweight if they eat too many carbs and calories and fats and don't exercise. What you eat is not important by itself if you don't change every aspect of your lifestyle. If I eat an apple and then just sit around I will gain a little bit of weight.
Does anyone else have those voices in the bathrooms at their restaurants? No really, they're recordings of someone that pretends to be talking to you about stuff, usually jokes... Anyway, the one at my work says something like "You're an old-timer if you remember the times when everyone would sit down for dinner and count their blessings, instead of calories." Of course, the woman that says these things sounds at least seventy.
