No problem with paranoia... At least, mild cases are okay.

No problem. I am very paranoid, therefore I read all the articles. Heh. Sad. . .

I love how I'm about 9 hours away from the border of Mexico. That's fantastic!

bird flu is on the news every day here, it has reached germany, croatia, romania, UK and Turkey, in Turkey and the UK the birds died in quarantine and the flu contained. In the UK the flu no longer exists, although its only a matter of tim euntil it spreads to all of europe, its effects are totally unknown, but some estimate 50,000 dead in the UK on onset of an epidemic, im not sure how many an epidemic could claim. but just to mention i dont think it will happen, not the worst case scenario anyway.

Its rather disturbing, really. And as citizens outside the medical community, we're essentially just waiting for something to happen. I think it could become as deadly as the 1918 flu, if China doesn't try to keep it more comtained, but their poor health system doesn't help either. It just needs a mutation, or a combination with a human strand, and according to Newsweek, it already has 5 of the 10 mutations that were characteristic of the Spanish Flu. Newsweek had a very informative article on it; you should check it out.
