But in this case, I doubt there is one...

When there is a rumor that 5,000,000 people are going to die, it usually shows up on Google. "influenza epidemic" "flu epidemic" and even "flu epidemic chickens" brought up nothing even remotely like what you are suggesting.

I highly doubt your epidemic will happen.
