Really what can we do but raise awareness of whats happening? I also support non profit organizations, and have done the 30 hour famine to raise money for countries under distress. I also sent shoe boxes off with Christmas gifts in it for children who wouldn't get a Christmas present. I want to adopt a child in another country too, but i haven't gotten that far.

I don't honestly know what we can do to help the people in Sudan, I want to help them, but i'm a bit overwhelmed by the whole situation.

So what are you going to do about Darfur? I mean, what have you thought about doing to help?

You probably could make me sad faster than you could get me mad. You have to do something truly horrible for me to get mad.
The only way to get me mad quickly is by hurting someone I care for or by hurting or picking on someone who can't really defend themselves.

No worries. I don't think you're preachy. Actually I agree with you one hundred percent on that. I appreciate your concern. And don't worry you can say anything to me without having to worry about it. I'm a pretty laid back person and I'm not going to react in a mean way.

Sorry, I really don't mean to be preachy, just so you know. I just care about people, and well, know a thing or two about life in general. i just want everybody to live a full life, with no regrets, no fear, no sadness, i want people to live to their full potential!

Sometimes issues in your life need to be adressed before you can help anybody else though. Just keep that in mind you are just as important as anybody else out there, and you deserve to take good care of yourself!

Well Triss, I know what you mean. But I didn't use to be like this. I had more desire to be useful before. Now all I think about mostly is my personal problems. But that's over. I need to go back to that person I was before without forgetting what I've learned up to now.

I wouldn't nessarilly say its a GOOD thing that you feel selfish, the truth is, we do live over here, and they do live over there, as much as i would like to fix it all, the reality of it is, we still have our own lives to live. I wish i could change things, i wish i could make it so people dont' have to hurt anymore, but the truth is, no matter what, there will be suffering in the world, it seems impossible for humanity to move away from that.

All we can do is, acknowledge there is injustice in the world and to educate others, and do what we can to help when the oppertunities arise.
