I don't live in New Orleans; never did. But I just wanna say how sorry I am that Hurricane Katrina hit. I live in Houston, Texas, where about one-fifth of New Orleans is staying. Yeah. It's kind of weird, seeing ordinary people on the streets, near the Astrodome, and knowing that it was them that lost their homes and maybe even family. I want to help so badly!!! Do you think that the people even feel their pain? It seems as if they're kind of numb, like they're in a daze. I see people walking around and I'm always hoping that one of them will give me a chance to help!!! It's driving me crazy, not being able to help that much. Help me help!

New Orleans was a tragedy! Our government needs to get their priorities straight. I agree with Itslikethis it shouldn't have taken us 5 days to get to New Orleans. We should have been there even before the hurricane hit because we saw it coming and knew that it could have been a serious problem. Iraq isn't a serious concern anymore...now we need to focus on the things that are more important.

It's like 6 months later and it looks like it was just yesterday when the hurricane hit.
