I know what you mean. I don't live in New Orleans, and I haven't had to go through any real disasters but it would be scary, my school is doing a food drive for you guys though.
I can feel for u and say that I DO understand what yr going through with the shock of the Disaster that Katrina caused in some sorta weird way. No I am not from there and I have not lost everything. But I can say that I have been to New Orleans. I was there in April of 05 and when I saw Katrina's aftermath I was shocked.I know that it's prolly no consolation to u for me to say that but I can say something that will help u succeed no matter where u go. Trust in God always, for he will never let u down. Pray that he'll help u find yr friends. I incourage everyone on here to pray for the city as well. When I was there one thing was present that still rings in my mind to this day. I honestly believe this to be very true. No matter what happens the city of New Orleans will never completely die out. They r to stong of people to let that happen... My guitarist tho does understand how u feel... He can not find any of his family.... Not even his dad.
heyy. im sorry. i kno everything is really freaky, but u need to stay happy and smile. and its good that you wrote, cuz keeping your feelings inside can get you sick... i heard that somewhere. im happy you found your friend... i just got a new kid in my home room, science, and math class that has come from houston, that lived in N.O, and i live way on the coast of cali!!!
well i hope you live a wonderful life and stay strong! my best wishes to u and your family <3
Hold your head high...you'll get back on your feet, hopefully ASAP.
Someone from New Orleans just came into my math class...and I live in Minnesota! She didn't tell anyone, but I overheard my math teacher talking to her. Any ideas on how to start a conversation just to break the ice?
This must be really hard for you, I would imagine it is painful and surreal - difficult for me to comprehend. Glad that your friend is okay and that you got out of danger!
Omigosh, I'm so sorry. I live in Houston, so I see a whole ton of people from New Orleans here. I hope everyone's keeping fairly cheerful, because this could take a long time. Email the Kids Against Cancer anytime at kidsagainstcanceractiongroup@yahoo.com. We're thinking of expanding to Hurricane Katrina. Good luck, and if you ever wanna talk or just type it all up, check us out!
Hey I feel really bad i wouldnt ever know what you have gone through because I live in the middle of a desert we are lucky just to get a shower of rain. One of the New Orleans evacuees came here to Roswell New Mexico to find work he works with my father so dude hang in there.
i just wanna say hang in there man, i really feel bad for all of y'all i have a lot of kids from new orleans in my skol cos am here in houston. We are praying for y'all here. Katrina helps a lot of us reset our priorities and also to thank God for stuff. I pray y'all will be ok
I can't imagine what it's like to be without everything you have treasured.
I live in Wisconsin and on Tuesday we had a bad thunderstorm where about 80,000 people lost power, but there is no reason to complain they have their homes and belongings. It just puts it all into another perspective.
Good Luck to you with school and everything, I hope your mom is able to find a job.
Are you getting a job to pay for books? If you can't, the University should keep copies in the library for use. So you won't be screwed on your studies. I'm sorry I am being too practical but it helps me to deal with the grief of my fellow Americans dying. Good luck and god bless you.
I have family in Mandeville, and they didn't get it nearly as badly as New Orleans, but they say it is terrible. The best of luck to you and your mother! Keep us updated.
