If anyone beat him in his prime, he too would have to be a demi-god.

Never put a Martial Artist up to demi-God status no matter how good a Martial Artist is there will one day be some one stronger

Of course there are weapons in JKD! Bruce lost one fight his whole life and that was to one of the best grapplers in the world and he didn't really no grappling then. He freakin knocked out Muhummad Ali in like 10 seconds! It's in letters from Ali to Bruce. He's supposed to be the best fighter and he still was annihilated by Lee! Bruce could beat anyone. HE IS THE MOST ULIMATE FIGHTER! He's like a hercules demi-god. He will never be out fought. Though Tommy Caruthers would be a good match. http://www.tommycarruthers.com/This guy knows over 40 different martial arts and so far JKD is what he considers the best.

he'd still get his as whipped in a Escrima fight but like I said similar backgrounds UKK(Universal Kempo Karate) also is direct attacks and is more escape oriented then many martial arts. still Jeet Kun Do and UKK is similar except I don't think you said any thing about weapons training (traditional or otherwise) which can really give you a leg up in a self-defense situation also does any one actually teach Jeet Kun Do? I've never heard of any teachers

Bruce grew up in the streets of Hong Kong and got into many fights. He then became the student of a Wing Chun Kungfu master named Sifu Yip Man. He continued fighting in the streets until cops were involved. His parents sent him to America. JKD is different than other martial arts though because rather than using techniques that stick with traditional movements, you fight in the simplest and most direct way possible. So basically it means use whatever you can as long as it's fast, clean and sensible. Lol You're right. People will never decide which is the best martial art. However, Bruce Lee was the best fighter and the fastest (his punch took 0.05 seconds to complete). And I don't care about your Hawaiian man! lol, j/k

That is true of all martial arts from the orgional Kung Fu on up to the Modern Martial arts and it's also why Martial Artists from diffrent styles will never agree on a art that is best still our professor was training in the 30's and 40's in Hawaii when the Martial Arts were still rough like in Escrima(stick fighting) in the Phillipenes Death Matches were legal I know Bruce came out of either the same school as professor or was trained by some one who was of similar experience unless it was the monks there bad ass but have no(as far as my knowledge extends) real street combat experience which is what makes or breaks a self defense martial art

Bruce started thinking of it in the early 1960's and then wrote "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do" which was published after his death in 1973. Jeet Kune Do is still perfect because it's not even a true style, but a philosophy.

When Bruce eventually lost a fight (I guess it's true that you can't win them all) it was because he did not know about grappling. Later he incorporated it into jkd. Jkd is perfect because it is so flexible and simple and it can be altered to suit anyone.

well everything chinese any way Jeet Kun Do as i understand it is very similar to Wushu Kung Fu in that it combines many syles of Kung Fu to make a superior form but there are many martial arts out there in Korea, Japan, India, Thailand, etc and I'm not sure if Bruce integrated any of those in to Jeet Kun Do. Also if I see a hole in Jeet Kun Do it would be ground work as far as I know there is no serious grappling/judo type training involved in Jeet Kun Do so that leaves a hole in the practicioners defenses

What do you think Bruce did? He did kind of start in the streets... Later he developed Jeet Kune Do, which is completely flawless do to the fact he took everything and I mean everything into consideration when he was creating it.

Yah but UKK (Universal Kempo Karate) is street tested out Professor, Professor Bule came up in Hawaii during the days when you learned a new move then hit the street and found out if it worked or not so all the moves we use are proven techniques if they were not useful the were scrapped when professor started teaching

I say the most versatile art in jeet kune do. It involves all the good things about nearly every fighting method and none of the bad. Hey, if Bruce was devoted to creating and perfecting it than it must be pretty good. It is kind of difficult to find people who teach jeet kune do, though. Not too many know it because Bruce didn't teach just anyone. For instance, my best friend's jeet kune do teacher was taught by one of Bruce's students.

Ahhhhhhh yes the ancient art of Kung Fu brought to the monks of the Shaolin Temples by Boddhi Darhma an incarnation of Lord Buddha an art that has now proliferated in to over 300 varietys and thats just Kung Fu, then there's Judo, Tae Kwan Do, Karate, Muay Thai, Ninjutsu, Iaido and so on for a very long time and then there's the style I will achive a black belt in(in about a year mind) That Combines Chinese Boxing, Kenpo(or Kempo), Grappling, Tae Kwan Do, Karate and anything else we can get our hands on we are a very versatile art mainly utilizingempty hand techniques but we do pleanty of weapons training as well. The various arts as I see them have weaknesses usually like Judo with it's throws and locks can be defeated best from range but Tae Kwan Do with it's strong kicks is weakest but my art utilizes all techniques that are 1. practical and 2. simple
