I like the video, message, and idea... but i doubt Kaplan University is anything like that or any good.

"I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along." - Psalm 40:1-2

Then of course there's no child left behind which is set-up to make schools fail... lol

lol that is totally true. this stupid no child left behind gives money to the schools who meet the standards set and leaves the ones who aren't meeting them to drown in their own failure. those not meeting the standards should get some money so maybe they could improve their education. not to mention i would like to see the gov. try and make kids who don't care about their education learn. it'd make for a good laugh when the people who came up with this stupid idea couldn't even meet their own dumb standards

Well education can't be put on teachers only first off (which is what nclb does) because it takes the school, parents and students in order to learn. As I said in another post if a kid comes home each night to an addict of a mother and never sees his father because he is in jail would that be a good environment to learn in? And do you think that family is stressing the importance of education on their children?

A lot of kids today complete under appreciate just how great it is to get an education. I believe this is partially the problem.

Another problem is that the general school curriculum (high school mainly) is too well-rounded. It forces a lot of kids to study subjects they hate, which causes them to resent school. We should have at least 20 magnet schools per county that specialize in subjects like engineering, math, science, art, etc. That way kids can pick what they would like to learn and perhaps actually be excited about it.

Another problem with schools is that people who do well are called nerds and are bullied or looked down upon. In Japan the number one student is a celebrity. (no lie). Why do we do this? Why do we make fun of people who like to learn. I blame Mtv and gangster rap. (note that gangster rap is different than rap)

Then of course there's no child left behind which is set-up to make schools fail... lol

Schools need money.

I decided to write to Exxon again and ask them if they give gas to schools at a discounted price. Transportation takes up a lot of the budget.

Exxon should just give gas to schools for free but of course sharks aren't the type to be generous. (lol head of exxon makes 12 mil a year)

I really don't know about the school itself. But, I like the message that was conveyed. I thought it had a lot of truth.

Any ways, yea... no one posted. I was sad. Wanted to delete it, but couldn't. So, I just pretended like it wasn't mine. Confused

You can go into why school is failing students. I wouldn't mind hearing... reading.
