I am thinking about starting a magazine for today's teen. It's been something that's been in the back of my mind since about tenth grade. I want your guys' advice on it and input. After all, it is about teens. So be brutally honest. So, here is what I have so far:

4. Fashion (both guy and girl)
5. Beauty (guy and girl)

7. Issues Column ( issues teens want to vice out about/hear about)

9. Hands On Section
10. Community Serevice
11. Sports
12. Build Strong Relationships
13. Feature Story

Is this something that you guys and girls would want to buy and read? I want to hear from you guys. Tell me what you think - could it be better?, will it work?., etc.

This really sounds like a great idea. You should start it. It would help teens today see the world in a new perspective.

i love taking pictures, so i wouldn't mind doing any photography for it.

Well, you've officially got it. Btw, I'm changing the name of the mag to Blvd. I'm trying to get it up and rolling by March 5. You pretty much have free reign on the advice you give and how you get it. Just have it ready one or two days by March 5 and tell on this board when you are ready for me to have it and I will NM you my email address.

I am revising the list of things I want to put in the zine. Right now, I think it's just too much until we actually get up and running and seeing if this is going to be something successful. But things will be added back if this goes as well as planned.

It turns out that I'm going to need more help than I realized and I just had a fantastic idea. For all of you who are interested in being apart of thie project, I have several ways you can help. I'm looking for people who are interested in journalism/photgraphy who would like to write and take pics for the online zine. If you're interested, just NM me with your Youthname and contact info.

I have taken the advice of Colyn and I want to inform you guys that I will be starting an online magazine. Blvd. will be introuced with the new year.

I think it is a great idea, and i would love to help. But i think it would be better to start off as a online magazine. Then you could get funds by having advertisers, then becoming a busines would be easier.

I am not a teen, however, I think the idea is wonderful. I echo

However, there is nothing wrong if you believe in a higher being, i.e., Jesus Christ, God, Allah, Buddha, etc. Good people do good things and each religion teaches us to be good people so try not to distance yourselves from what you believe in. I'm noticing a lot of young people feel they have serious issues in life and there needs to be an outlet for them to express their issues and learn from others. This sounds great!

That is a great idea, really.
But even though you are Christian, try not to let that be a main focus (Or really even a focus at all) in the zine. I am Jewish, and being so, I have found many magazines I was interested in but then turned away when I realized they had a Christian focus. It makes me feel alienated and awkward reading something that is directed towards a general audience that I dont belong to.

However, it would be great to have a "spirituality" section where encouragement of all religions are accepted. Christan, Jewish, Muslim, etc. Good ideas though, I would read it! =]

this is an amazing idea! For the sports section you might want to include a workout plan, one for both boys and girls. I really good thing to include would be a weights program for both boys and girls. I could help with that. I am a big runner and VB player and I'm am good friends with the football coaches and track coaches and VB coaches. So if you need my help just ask! Also do something about the discrimination with girls playing football.
