i want to start a petition in my town to expand our school district. We have the smallest district in the state of iowa, 3.61 square miles to be exact, and we are surounded by the other district in town because that was how the lines were drawn. we have no room to grow and we don't get the money we can because most of the money comes from property taxes within the district. the other district has added around 3 buildings within the past 5 years and we are bursting at the seams: we don't have the money or the space to add a new building. is this the right action to take? i really want to get the district expanded so we have the same oppertunities the other district has.
