Yes!! American Idol is the most popular voting trend in the U.S.!!! The presidential election set records and only recorded a measley 122 million votes. American idol had 250 million votes for the final last year. American Idol is more popular than American Democracy. Good job smarties. simon is right. half will find her cute, half will find her annoying. She seems like a younger version of 'the nanny.'

On the results show that was on this past friday, they said that there were over 140 million votes cast. Since the voting total for the finals the one year that FML mentioned was almost double that, that definitely means that people were voting way more than once. So...yeah.

If you watch the show, you do. There aren't as many people without a phone and television as you may think. And I apologize, I read voters as votes. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

..I'm just pointing out that there's absolutely no way that there were 250 million voters. By stating that people vote more than once, I was proving that there were less than 250 million voters.
Let me rephrase that sentence: Do you think that 250 million of those people all have TVs and technology - that they all watched American Idol and cared enough to vote?
That's 86% of the population. Out of 100 people, only 14 didn't vote. Out of 1000, only 140 didn't vote. Et cetera.

a) you don't need a cell phone b) as you said, many people vote more than once. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

I could say the same to you. Do you realize that there are only 290 million people living in the United States? Do you really think that 250 million of those people ALL HAVE CELL PHONES AND ALL VOTED?? I mean, please, think before you repeat random numbers. American Idol doesn't even 30 million viewers, much less 250 million voters. Even if that 250 number is correct (which I highly doubt), it just means that people are more obsessed with American Idol and vote multiple times. Oh, and America has a low voter turnout not because people love democracy less. It's because in order to vote, you have to be 18, and you have to register and take time off work to go vote. To vote in American Idol all you have to do is press a few buttons on your cell phone.

That's sad. It's not like the chosen American Idol can actually DO anything to help America or has the power to make America a better place.

Nadia Turner? I like her too I like Anwar, Carrie, Nadia and Constantine (although Bo Bice sounded pretty awesome on monday). And while we're on the subject of past contestants, jam, I had a huge crush on Justin Guarini from the first season. You know, the guy with the big curly hair? He's also from my state (Pennsylvania). I still think he's hot actually Why am I telling strangers this?

Micaela Gordon, or however you spell, it goes to my school. I really don't think her voice is fantastic. The only reason she's advanced this far is her personality. I liked the girl with the 'fro last night. I don't know her name.
What if what you think is great, really is great, but it's not as great as something greater?
