I am thinking of starting something to help teens get advice from their peers. I see many phone hotlines for advice, as well as these message boards where teens find solace in the advice of people their own ages. It got me thinking about starting groups where kids and teenagers can get together and just discuss and ask advice on things -- family, school, friends. So, I'm asking for feedback and opinions. Are people actually willing to show up and discuss their private lives (without the comfort of hiding behind internet usernames)?

I haven't really seen peer groups in affect where I live. I'm only familiar with adult to teen mentoring and hope that a peer group will be helpful.

???

I know they had situation specific groups like that at my HS. I don't know that people would actually go to a support group unprompted.
