As most people would assume, the first president was George Washington, but by doing this, you are wrong. The true first president of the USA, was a man by the name of John Hanson from Maryland. Maryland signed the Articles of Confederation in 1781, to become the last of the 13 original states to do so.John Hanson, who signed for Maryland was then elected president in 1781 as president. Phew, I'm glad this was false. This john hanson guy looks like he may have had down syndrome, not exactly presidential material (no offense if you have down syndrome).
